Alif Lam Mim
Transliteration
'Alif-Lām-Mīm
تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْحَكِيمِ 2
Translation
These (are) Verses (of) the Book the Wise
Transliteration
Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Kitābi Al-Ĥakīmi
هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ 3
Translation
A guidance and a mercy for the good-doers
Transliteration
Hudáan Wa Raĥmatan Lilmuĥsinīna
الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُمْ بِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ 4
Translation
Those who establish the prayer and give zakah and they in the Hereafter [they] believe firmly
Transliteration
Al-Ladhīna Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Yu'utūna Az-Zakāata Wa Hum Bil-'Ākhirati Hum Yūqinūna
أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ 5
Translation
Those (are) on guidance from their Lord and those [they] (are) the successful
Transliteration
''Ūlā'ika `Alá Hudáan Min Rabbihim Wa 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ 6
Translation
And of the mankind (is he) who purchases idle tales idle tales to mislead from (the) path (of) Allah without knowledge and takes it (in) ridicule Those for them (is) a punishment humiliating
Transliteration
Wa Mina An-Nāsi Man Yashtarī Lahwa Al-Ĥadīthi Liyuđilla `An Sabīli Allāhi Bighayri `Ilmin Wa Yattakhidhahā Huzūan 'Ūla'ika Lahum `Adhābun Muhīnun
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنَّ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًا ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ 7
Translation
And when are recited to him Our Verses he turns away arrogantly as if not he (had) heard them as if in his ears (is) deafness So give him tidings of a punishment painful
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhi 'Āyātunā Wallá Mustakbirāan Ka'an Lam Yasma`hā Ka'anna Fī 'Udhunayhi Waqrāan Fabashshirhu Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ النَّعِيمِ 8
Translation
Indeed those who believe and do righteous deeds for them (are) Gardens (of) Delight
Transliteration
'Inna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lahum Jannātu An-Na`īmi
خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقًّا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ 9
Translation
(To) abide forever in it (The) Promise of Allah (The) Promise of Allah (is) true And He (is) the All-Mighty the All-Wise
Transliteration
Khālidīna Fīhā Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqāan Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ۖ وَأَلْقَىٰ فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَنْ تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ ۚ وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ 10
Translation
He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast in the earth firm mountains lest it (might) shake with you and He dispersed in it from every creature And We sent down from the sky water then We caused to grow therein of every kind noble
Transliteration
Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Bighayri `Amadin Tarawnahā Wa 'Alqá Fī Al-'Arđi Rawāsiya 'An Tamīda Bikum Wa Baththa Fīhā Min Kulli Dābbatin Wa 'Anzalnā Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'anbatnā Fīhā Min Kulli Zawjin Karīmin
هَٰذَا خَلْقُ اللَّهِ فَأَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ ۚ بَلِ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ 11
Translation
This (is the) creation (of) Allah So show Me what have created those besides Him besides Him Nay the wrongdoers (are) in error clear
Transliteration
Hādhā Khalqu Allāhi Fa'arūnī Mādhā Khalaqa Al-Ladhīna Min Dūnihi Bali Až-Žālimūna Fī Đalālin Mubīnin
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا لُقْمَانَ الْحِكْمَةَ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِلَّهِ ۚ وَمَنْ يَشْكُرْ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ 12
Translation
And verily We gave Luqman the wisdom that Be grateful to Allah And whoever (is) grateful then only he is grateful for himself And whoever (is) ungrateful then indeed Allah (is) Free of need Praiseworthy
Transliteration
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Luqmāna Al-Ĥikmata 'Ani Ashkur Lillāhi Wa Man Yashkur Fa'innamā Yashkuru Linafsihi Wa Man Kafara Fa'inna Allāha Ghanīyun Ĥamīdun
وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ 13
Translation
And when said Luqman to his son while he (was) instructing him O my son! (Do) not associate partners with Allah Indeed associating partners (is) surely an injustice great
Transliteration
Wa 'Idh Qāla Luqmānu Liābnihi Wa Huwa Ya`ižuhu Yā Bunayya Lā Tushrik Billāhi 'Inna Ash-Shirka Lažulmun `Ažīmun
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍ وَفِصَالُهُ فِي عَامَيْنِ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيْكَ إِلَيَّ الْمَصِيرُ 14
Translation
And We have enjoined (upon) man for his parents - carried him his mother (in) weakness upon weakness and his weaning (is) in two years that Be grateful to Me and to your parents; towards Me (is) the destination
Transliteration
Wa Waşşaynā Al-'Insāna Biwālidayhi Ĥamalat/hu 'Ummuhu Wahnāan `Alá Wahnin Wa Fişāluhu Fī `Āmayni 'Ani Ashkur Lī Wa Liwālidayka 'Ilayya Al-Maşīru
وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰ أَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا ۖ وَاتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَيَّ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 15
Translation
But if they strive against you on that you associate partners with Me what not you have of it any knowledge then (do) not obey both of them But accompany them in the world (with) kindness and follow (the) path (of him) who turns to Me Then towards Me (is) your return then I will inform you of what you used (to) do
Transliteration
Wa 'In Jāhadāka `Alá 'An Tushrika Bī Mā Laysa Laka Bihi `Ilmun Falā Tuţi`humā Wa Şāĥibhumā Fī Ad-Dunyā Ma`rūfāan Wa Attabi` Sabīla Man 'Anāba 'Ilayya Thumma 'Ilayya Marji`ukum Fa'unabbi'ukum Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna
يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّهَا إِنْ تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُنْ فِي صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَوْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ 16
Translation
O my son Indeed it if it be (the) weight (of) a grain of a mustard seed and it be in a rock or in the heavens or in the earth Allah will bring it forth Allah will bring it forth Allah will bring it forth Indeed Allah (is) All-Subtle All-Aware
Transliteration
Yā Bunayya 'Innahā 'In Takun Mithqāla Ĥabbatin Min Khardalin Fatakun Fī Şakhratin 'Aw Fī As-Samāwāti 'Aw Fī Al-'Arđi Ya'ti Bihā Allāhu 'Inna Allāha Laţīfun Khabīrun
يَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا أَصَابَكَ ۖ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ 17
Translation
O my son Establish the prayer and enjoin [with] the right and forbid from the wrong and be patient over what befalls you Indeed that (is) of the matters requiring determination the matters requiring determination
Transliteration
Yā Bunayya 'Aqimi Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Mur Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa Anha `Ani Al-Munkari Wa Aşbir `Alá Mā 'Aşābaka 'Inna Dhālika Min `Azmi Al-'Umūri
وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ 18
Translation
And (do) not turn your cheek from men and (do) not walk in the earth exultantly Indeed Allah (does) not like every self-conceited boaster
Transliteration
Wa Lā Tuşa``ir Khaddaka Lilnnāsi Wa Lā Tamshi Fī Al-'Arđi Maraĥāan 'Inna Allāha Lā Yuĥibbu Kulla Mukhtālin Fakhūrin
وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِنْ صَوْتِكَ ۚ إِنَّ أَنْكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ 19
Translation
And be moderate in your pace and lower [of] your voice Indeed (the) harshest (of all) sounds (is) surely (the) voice (of) the donkeys
Transliteration
WWāqşid Fī Mashyika Wa Aghđuđ Min Şawtika 'Inna 'Ankara Al-'Aşwāti Laşawtu Al-Ĥamīri
أَلَمْ تَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُ ظَاهِرَةً وَبَاطِنَةً ۗ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَابٍ مُنِيرٍ 20
Translation
Do not you see that Allah has subjected to you whatever (is) in the heavens and whatever (is) in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His Bounties apparent and hidden But of the people (is he) who disputes about Allah without knowledge and not guidance and not a book enlightening
Transliteration
'Alam Taraw 'Anna Allāha Sakhkhara Lakum Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Wa 'Asbagha `Alaykum Ni`amahu Žāhiratan Wa Bāţinatan Wa Mina An-Nāsi Man Yujādilu Fī Allāhi Bighayri `Ilmin Wa Lā Hudáan Wa Lā Kitābin Munīrin
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ 21
Translation
And when it is said to them Follow what Allah (has) revealed Allah (has) revealed they say Nay we will follow what we found on it our forefathers Even if Shaitaan was Shaitaan was (to) call them to (the) punishment (of) the Blaze
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahumu Attabi`ū Mā 'Anzala Allāhu Qālū Bal Nattabi`u Mā Wajadnā `Alayhi 'Ābā'anā 'Awalaw Kāna Ash-Shayţānu Yad`ūhum 'Ilá `Adhābi As-Sa`īri
۞ وَمَنْ يُسْلِمْ وَجْهَهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىٰ ۗ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ عَاقِبَةُ الْأُمُورِ 22
Translation
And whoever submits his face to Allah while he (is) a good- doer then indeed he has grasped the handhold the most trustworthy And to Allah (is the) end (of) the matters
Transliteration
Wa Man Yuslim Wajhahu 'Ilá Allāhi Wa Huwa Muĥsinun Faqadi Astamsaka Bil-`Urwati Al-Wuthqá Wa 'Ilá Allāhi `Āqibatu Al-'Umūri
وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَلَا يَحْزُنْكَ كُفْرُهُ ۚ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ 23
Translation
And whoever disbelieves let not grieve you his disbelief To Us (is) their return then We will inform them of what they did Indeed Allah (is) the All-Knower of what (is in) the breasts
Transliteration
Wa Man Kafara Falā Yaĥzunka Kufruhu 'Ilaynā Marji`uhum Fanunabbi'uhum Bimā `Amilū 'Inna Allāha `Alīmun Bidhāti Aş-Şudūri
نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ 24
Translation
We grant them enjoyment (for) a little then We will force them to a punishment severe
Transliteration
NNumatti`uhum Qalīlāan Thumma Nađţarruhum 'Ilá `Adhābin Ghalīžin
وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ 25
Translation
And if you ask them Who created the heavens and the earth They will surely say Allah Say All praises (are) for Allah But most of them (do) not know
Transliteration
Wa La'in Sa'altahum Man Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Layaqūlunna Allāhu Quli Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Bal 'Aktharuhum Lā Ya`lamūna
لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ 26
Translation
To Allah (belongs) whatever (is) in the heavens and the earth Indeed Allah He (is) Free of need the Praiseworthy
Transliteration
Lillāhi Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi 'Inna Allāha Huwa Al-Ghanīyu Al-Ĥamīdu
وَلَوْ أَنَّمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ أَقْلَامٌ وَالْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ سَبْعَةُ أَبْحُرٍ مَا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمَاتُ اللَّهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ 27
Translation
And if whatever (is) in the earth of (the) trees (were) pens and the sea (to) add to it after it after it seven seas not would be exhausted (the) Words (of) Allah Indeed Allah (is) All-Mighty All-Wise
Transliteration
Wa Law 'Annamā Fī Al-'Arđi Min Shajaratin 'Aqlāmun Wa Al-Baĥru Yamudduhu Min Ba`dihi Sab`atu 'Abĥurin Mā Nafidat Kalimātu Allāhi 'Inna Allāha `Azīzun Ĥakīmun
مَا خَلْقُكُمْ وَلَا بَعْثُكُمْ إِلَّا كَنَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ 28
Translation
Not (is) your creation and not your resurrection but as a soul single Indeed Allah (is) All-Hearer All-Seer
Transliteration
Mā Khalqukum Wa Lā Ba`thukum 'Illā Kanafsin Wāĥidatin 'Inna Allāha Samī`un Başīrun
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ 29
Translation
Do not you see that Allah causes to enter the night into the day and causes to enter the day into the night and has subjected the sun and the moon each moving for a term appointed and that Allah of what you do (is) All-Aware
Transliteration
'Alam Tará 'Anna Allāha Yūliju Al-Layla Fī An-Nahāri Wa Yūliju An-Nahāra Fī Al-Layli Wa Sakhkhara Ash-Shamsa Wa Al-Qamara Kullun Yajrī 'Ilá 'Ajalin Musammáan Wa 'Anna Allāha Bimā Ta`malūna Khabīrun
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ الْبَاطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ 30
Translation
That (is) because Allah He (is) the Truth and that what they call besides Him besides Him (is) [the] falsehood and that Allah He (is) the Most High the Most Great
Transliteration
Dhālika Bi'anna Allāha Huwa Al-Ĥaqqu Wa 'Anna Mā Yad`ūna Min Dūnihi Al-Bāţilu Wa 'Anna Allāha Huwa Al-`Alīyu Al-Kabīru
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ الْفُلْكَ تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَتِ اللَّهِ لِيُرِيَكُمْ مِنْ آيَاتِهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ 31
Translation
Do not you see that the ships sail through the sea by (the) Grace (of) Allah that He may show you of His Signs Indeed in that surely (are) Signs for everyone (who is) patient grateful
Transliteration
'Alam Tará 'Anna Al-Fulka Tajrī Fī Al-Baĥri Bini`mati Allāhi Liyuriyakum Min 'Āyātihi 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Likulli Şabbārin Shakūrin
وَإِذَا غَشِيَهُمْ مَوْجٌ كَالظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُورٍ 32
Translation
And when covers them a wave like canopies they call Allah (being) sincere to Him (in) religion But when He delivers them to the land then among them (some are) moderate And not deny Our Signs except every traitor ungrateful
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Ghashiyahum Mawjun Kālžžulali Da`aw Allāha Mukhlişīna Lahu Ad-Dīna Falammā Najjāhum 'Ilá Al-Barri Faminhum Muqtaşidun Wa Mā Yajĥadu Bi'āyātinā 'Illā Kullu Khattārin Kafūrin
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَاخْشَوْا يَوْمًا لَا يَجْزِي وَالِدٌ عَنْ وَلَدِهِ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَنْ وَالِدِهِ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ 33
Translation
O mankind Fear your Lord and fear a Day not can avail a father [for] his son and not a son he (can) avail [for] his father anything Indeed (the) Promise (of) Allah (is) True so let not deceive you so let not deceive you the life (of) the world and let not deceive you and let not deceive you about Allah the deceiver
Transliteration
YYā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu Attaqū Rabbakum Wa Akhshaw Yawmāan Lā Yajzī Wa A-Dun `An Waladihi Wa Lā Mawlūdun Huwa Jāzin `An Wa A-Dihi Shay'āan 'Inna Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqun Falā Taghurrannakumu Al-Ĥayā Atu Ad-Dunyā Wa Lā Yaghurrannakum Billāhi Al-Gharūru
إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ ۖ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا ۖ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ 34
Translation
Indeed Allah with Him (is the) knowledge (of) the Hour and He sends down the rain and knows what (is) in the wombs And not knows any soul what it will earn tomorrow and not knows any soul in what land it will die Indeed Allah (is) All-Knower All-Aware
Transliteration
