Qāf The Letter 'Qaf'
﷽
ق ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ 1
Translation
Qaf By the Quran the Glorious
Transliteration
Qāf Wa Al-Qur'āni Al-Majīdi
بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ 2
Translation
Nay they wonder that has come to them a warner from them So say the disbelievers This (is) a thing amazing
Transliteration
Bal `Ajibū 'An Jā'ahum Mundhirun Minhum Faqāla Al-Kāfirūna Hādhā Shay'un `Ajībun
أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ 3
Translation
What! When we die and have become dust That (is) a return far
Transliteration
''A'idhā Mitnā Wa Kunnā Turābāan Dhālika Raj`un Ba`īdun
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنْقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِنْدَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ 4
Translation
Certainly We know what diminishes the earth of them and with Us (is) a Book guarded
Transliteration
QQad `Alimnā Mā Tanquşu Al-'Arđu Minhum Wa `Indanā Kitābun Ĥafīžun
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَرِيجٍ 5
Translation
Nay they denied the truth when it came (to) them so they (are) in a state confused
Transliteration
Bal Kadhdhabū Bil-Ĥaqqi Lammā Jā'ahum Fahum Fī 'Amrin Marījin
أَفَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِنْ فُرُوجٍ 6
Translation
Then do not they look at the sky above them - how We structured it and adorned it and not for it any rifts
Transliteration
'Afalam Yanžurū 'Ilá As-Samā'i Fawqahum Kayfa Banaynāhā Wa Zayyannāhā Wa Mā Lahā Min Furūjin
وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ 7
Translation
And the earth We have spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and We made to grow therein of every kind beautiful
Transliteration
WWa Al-'Arđa Madadnāhā Wa 'Alqaynā Fīhā Rawāsiya Wa 'Anbatnā Fīhā Min Kulli Zawjin Bahījin
تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُنِيبٍ 8
Translation
Giving insight and a reminder for every slave who turns
Transliteration
TTabşiratan Wa Dhikrá Likulli `Abdin Munībin
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُبَارَكًا فَأَنْبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ 9
Translation
And We have sent down from the sky water blessed then We made to grow thereby gardens and grain (for) the harvest
Transliteration
Wa Nazzalnā Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Mubārakāan Fa'anbatnā Bihi Jannātin Wa Ĥabba Al-Ĥaşīdi
وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ 10
Translation
And the palms trees tall - for it (are) layers arranged
Transliteration
WWa An-Nakhla Bāsiqātin Lahā Ţal`un Nađīdun
رِزْقًا لِلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ 11
Translation
A provision for the slaves and We give life therewith (to) a land dead Thus (will be) the coming forth
Transliteration
Rizqāan Lil`ibādi Wa 'Aĥyaynā Bihi Baldatan Maytāan Kadhālika Al-Khurūju
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ 12
Translation
Denied before them (the) people (of) Nuh and (the) companions (of) Ar-Raas and Thamud
Transliteration
Kadhdhabat Qablahum Qawmu Nūĥin Wa 'Aşĥābu Ar-Rassi Wa Thamūdu
وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ 13
Translation
And Aad and Firaun and (the) brothers (of) Lut
Transliteration
Wa `Ādun Wa Fir`awnu Wa 'Ikhwānu Lūţin
وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ 14
Translation
And (the) companions (of) the wood and (the) people (of) Tubba All denied the Messengers so was fulfilled My Threat
Transliteration
Wa 'Aşĥābu Al-'Aykati Wa Qawmu Tubba`in Kullun Kadhdhaba Ar-Rusula Faĥaqqa Wa`īdi
أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ 15
Translation
Were We then tired with the creation the first Nay they (are) in doubt about a creation new
Transliteration
''Afa`ayīnā Bil-Khalqi Al-'Awwali Bal Hum Fī Labsin Min Khalqin Jadīdin
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ 16
Translation
And certainly We created man and We know what whispers to him his soul and We (are) nearer to him than (his) jugular vein (his) jugular vein
Transliteration
Wa Laqad Khalaqnā Al-'Insāna Wa Na`lamu Mā Tuwaswisu Bihi Nafsuhu Wa Naĥnu 'Aqrabu 'Ilayhi Min Ĥabli Al-Warīdi
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ 17
Translation
When receive the two receivers on the right and on the left seated
Transliteration
'Idh Yatalaqqá Al-Mutalaqqiyāni `Ani Al-Yamīni Wa `Ani Ash-Shimāli Qa`īdun
مَا يَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ 18
Translation
Not he utters any word but with him (is) an observer ready
Transliteration
Mā Yalfižu Min Qawlin 'Illā Ladayhi Raqībun `Atīdun
وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنْتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ 19
Translation
And will come (the) stupor (of) death in truth That (is) what you were [from it] avoiding
Transliteration
Wa Jā'at Sakratu Al-Mawti Bil-Ĥaqqi Dhālika Mā Kunta Minhu Taĥīdu
وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ 20
Translation
And will be blown [in] the trumpet That (is the) Day (of) the Warning
Transliteration
Wa Nufikha Fī Aş-Şūri Dhālika Yawmu Al-Wa`īdi
وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ 21
Translation
And will come every soul with it a driver and a witness
Transliteration
Wa Jā'at Kullu Nafsin Ma`ahā Sā'iqun Wa Shahīdun
لَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ 22
Translation
Certainly you were in heedlessness of this So We have removed from you your cover so your sight today (is) sharp
Transliteration
LLaqad Kunta Fī Ghaflatin Min Hādhā Fakashafnā `Anka Ghiţā'aka Fabaşaruka Al-Yawma Ĥadīdun
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ 23
Translation
And (will) say his companion This (is) what (is) with me ready
Transliteration
Wa Qāla Qarīnuhu Hādhā Mā Ladayya `Atīdun
أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ 24
Translation
Throw into Hell every disbeliever stubborn
Transliteration
'Alqiyā Fī Jahannama Kulla Kaffārin `Anīdin
مَنَّاعٍ لِلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُرِيبٍ 25
Translation
Forbidder of good transgressor doubter
Transliteration
Mannā`in Lilkhayri Mu`tadin Murībin
الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ 26
Translation
Who made with Allah a god another; so throw him in(to) the punishment the severe
Transliteration
Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Ma`a Allāhi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara Fa'alqiyāhu Fī Al-`Adhābi Ash-Shadīdi
۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَٰكِنْ كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ 27
Translation
Will say his companion Our Lord not I made him transgress but he was in error far
Transliteration
Qāla Qarīnuhu Rabbanā Mā 'Aţghaytuhu Wa Lakin Kāna Fī Đalālin Ba`īdin
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ بِالْوَعِيدِ 28
Translation
He will say (Do) not dispute (in) My presence and indeed I sent forth to you the Warning
Transliteration
Qāla Lā Takhtaşimū Ladayya Wa Qad Qaddamtu 'Ilaykum Bil-Wa`īdi
مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ 29
Translation
Not will be changed the word with Me and not I Am unjust to My slaves
Transliteration
Mā Yubaddalu Al-Qawlu Ladayya Wa Mā 'Anā Bižallāmin Lil`abīdi
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ 30
Translation
(The) Day We will say to Hell Are you filled And it will say Are (there) any more
Transliteration
Yawma Naqūlu Lijahannama Hal Amtala'ti Wa Taqūlu Hal Min Mazīdin
وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ 31
Translation
And will be brought near the Paradise to the righteous not far
Transliteration
Wa 'Uzlifati Al-Jannatu Lilmuttaqīna Ghayra Ba`īdin
هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ 32
Translation
This (is) what you were promised for everyone who turns (and) who keeps
Transliteration
Hādhā Mā Tū`adūna Likulli 'Awwābin Ĥafīžin
مَنْ خَشِيَ الرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُنِيبٍ 33
Translation
Who feared the Most Gracious in the unseen and came with a heart returning
Transliteration
Man Khashiya Ar-Raĥmana Bil-Ghaybi Wa Jā'a Biqalbin Munībin
ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُودِ 34
Translation
Enter it in peace That (is) a Day (of) Eternity
Transliteration
Adkhulūhā Bisalāmin Dhālika Yawmu Al-Khulūdi
لَهُمْ مَا يَشَاءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ 35
Translation
For them whatever they wish therein and with Us (is) more
Transliteration
Lahum Mā Yashā'ūna Fīhā Wa Ladaynā Mazīdun
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ هَلْ مِنْ مَحِيصٍ 36
Translation
And how many We destroyed before them of a generation they (were) stronger than them (in) power so they explored throughout the lands Is (there) any place of escape
Transliteration
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin Hum 'Ashaddu Minhum Baţshāan Fanaqqabū Fī Al-Bilādi Hal Min Maĥīşin
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ 37
Translation
Indeed in that surely, is a reminder for (one) who is for him a heart or (who) gives ear (who) gives ear while he (is) a witness
Transliteration
'Inna Fī Dhālika Ladhikrá Liman Kāna Lahu Qalbun 'Aw 'Alqá As-Sam`a Wa Huwa Shahīdun
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِنْ لُغُوبٍ 38
Translation
And certainly We created the heavens and the earth and whatever (is) between both of them in six periods and (did) not touch Us any fatigue
Transliteration
Wa Laqad Khalaqnā As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Fī Sittati 'Ayyāmin Wa Mā Massanā Min Lughūbin
فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ 39
Translation
So be patient over what they say and glorify (the) praise (of) your Lord before (the) rising (of) the sun and before the setting
Transliteration
Fāşbir `Alá Mā Yaqūlūna Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥamdi Rabbika Qabla Ţulū`i Ash-Shamsi Wa Qabla Al-Ghurūbi
وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ 40
Translation
And of the night glorify Him and after the prostration
Transliteration
Wa Mina Al-Layli Fasabbiĥhu Wa 'Adbāra As-Sujūdi
وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ الْمُنَادِ مِنْ مَكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ 41
Translation
And listen! (The) Day will call the caller from a place near
Transliteration
Wa Astami` Yawma Yunādi Al-Munādi Min Makānin Qarībin
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوجِ 42
Translation
(The) Day they will hear the Blast in truth That (is the) Day (of) coming forth
Transliteration
Yawma Yasma`ūna Aş-Şayĥata Bil-Ĥaqqi Dhālika Yawmu Al-Khurūji
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا الْمَصِيرُ 43
Translation
Indeed We [We] [We] give life and [We] cause death and to Us (is) the final return
Transliteration
'Innā Naĥnu Nuĥyī Wa Numītu Wa 'Ilaynā Al-Maşīru
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ 44
Translation
(The) Day will split the earth from them hurrying That (is) a gathering for Us easy
Transliteration
Yawma Tashaqqaqu Al-'Arđu `Anhum Sirā`āan Dhālika Ĥashrun `Alaynā Yasīrun
نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَا أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَنْ يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ 45
Translation
We know best [of] what they say and not (are) you over them the one to compel But remind with the Quran whoever fears My threat
Transliteration
Naĥnu 'A`lamu Bimā Yaqūlūna Wa Mā 'Anta `Alayhim Bijabbārin Fadhakkir Bil-Qur'āni Man Yakhāfu Wa`īdi
