Alif Laam Meem Saad
Transliteration
''Alif-Lām-Mīm-Şād
كِتَابٌ أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُنْ فِي صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِنْهُ لِتُنْذِرَ بِهِ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ 2
Translation
A Book revealed to you so (let) not be in your breast any uneasiness from it that you warn with it and a reminder for the believers
Transliteration
KKitābun 'Unzila 'Ilayka Falā Yakun Fī Şadrika Ĥarajun Minhu Litundhira Bihi Wa Dhikrá Lilmu'uminīna
اتَّبِعُوا مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ 3
Translation
Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and (do) not follow from beside Him any allies Little (is) what you remember
Transliteration
AAttabi`ū Mā 'Unzila 'Ilaykum Min Rabbikum Wa Lā Tattabi`ū Min Dūnihi 'Awliyā'a Qalīlāan Mā Tadhakkarūna
وَكَمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا فَجَاءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَائِلُونَ 4
Translation
And how many of a city We destroyed it and came to it Our punishment (at) night or (while) they were sleeping at noon
Transliteration
Wa Kam Min Qaryatin 'Ahlaknāhā Fajā'ahā Ba'sunā Bayātāan 'Aw Hum Qā'ilūna
فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَاهُمْ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ 5
Translation
Then not was their plea when came to them Our punishment except that they said Indeed we were wrongdoers
Transliteration
Famā Kāna Da`wāhum 'Idh Jā'ahum Ba'sunā 'Illā 'An Qālū 'Innā Kunnā Žālimīna
فَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الْمُرْسَلِينَ 6
Translation
Then surely We will question those (to) whom were sent to them (Messengers) and surely We will question the Messengers
Transliteration
Falanas'alanna Al-Ladhīna 'Ursila 'Ilayhim Wa Lanas'alanna Al-Mursalīna
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ بِعِلْمٍ ۖ وَمَا كُنَّا غَائِبِينَ 7
Translation
Then surely We will narrate to them with knowledge and not We were absent
Transliteration
FFalanaquşşanna `Alayhim Bi`ilmin Wa Mā Kunnā Ghā'ibīna
وَالْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحَقُّ ۚ فَمَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ 8
Translation
And the weighing that day (will be) the truth So whose - (will be) heavy his scales then those [they] (will be) the successful ones
Transliteration
WWa Al-Waznu Yawma'idhin Al-Ĥaqqu Faman Thaqulat Mawāzīnuhu Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ 9
Translation
And (for) those (will be) light his scales so those (will be) the ones who lost themselves because they were to Our Verses (doing) injustice
Transliteration
Wa Man Khaffat Mawāzīnuhu Fa'ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Khasirū 'Anfusahum Bimā Kānū Bi'āyātinā Yažlimūna
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَا تَشْكُرُونَ 10
Translation
And certainly We established you in the earth and We made for you in it livelihood Little (is) what you (are) grateful
Transliteration
Wa Laqad Makkannākum Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Ja`alnā Lakum Fīhā Ma`āyisha Qalīlāan Mā Tashkurūna
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنَ السَّاجِدِينَ 11
Translation
And certainly We created you then We fashioned you Then We said to the Angels Prostrate to Adam So they prostrated except Iblees Not he was of those who prostrated
Transliteration
Wa Laqad Khalaqnākum Thumma Şawwarnākum Thumma Qulnā Lilmalā'ikati Asjudū Li'dama Fasajadū 'Illā 'Iblīsa Lam Yakun Mina As-Sājidīna
قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ 12
Translation
(Allah) said What prevented you that not you prostrate when I commanded you (Shaitaan) said I am better than him You created me from fire and You created him from clay
Transliteration
Qāla Mā Mana`aka 'Allā Tasjuda 'Idh 'Amartuka Qāla 'Anā Khayrun Minhu Khalaqtanī Min Nārin Wa Khalaqtahu Min Ţīnin
قَالَ فَاهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَنْ تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَاخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَّاغِرِينَ 13
Translation
(Allah) said Then go down from it for not it is for you that you be arrogant in it So get out; indeed you (are) of the disgraced ones
Transliteration
Qāla Fāhbiţ Minhā Famā Yakūnu Laka 'An Tatakabbara Fīhā Fākhruj 'Innaka Mina Aş-Şāghirīna
قَالَ أَنْظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ 14
Translation
(Shaitaan) said Give me respite till (the) Day they are raised up
Transliteration
Qāla 'Anžirnī 'Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna
قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِينَ 15
Translation
(Allah) said Indeed you (are) of the ones given respite
Transliteration
Qāla 'Innaka Mina Al-Munžarīna
قَالَ فَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ 16
Translation
(Shaitaan) said Because You have sent me astray surely I will sit for them (on) Your path the straight
Transliteration
Qāla Fabimā 'Aghwaytanī La'aq`udanna Lahum Şirāţaka Al-Mustaqīma
ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَنْ شَمَائِلِهِمْ ۖ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَاكِرِينَ 17
Translation
Then surely, I will come to them from before them and from behind them and from their right and from their left and not You (will) find most of them grateful
Transliteration
TThumma La'ātiyannahum Min Bayni 'Aydīhim Wa Min Khalfihim Wa `An 'Aymānihim Wa `An Shamā'ilihim Wa Lā Tajidu 'Aktharahum Shākirīna
قَالَ اخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَدْحُورًا ۖ لَمَنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ 18
Translation
(Allah) said Get out of it disgraced and expelled Certainly whoever follows you among them surely I will fill Hell with you all
Transliteration
Qāla Akhruj Minhā Madh'ūmāan Madĥūrāan Laman Tabi`aka Minhum La'amla'anna Jahannama Minkum 'Ajma`īna
وَيَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنْتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ 19
Translation
And O Adam! Dwell you and your wife (in) the Garden and you both eat from wherever you both wish but (do) not approach [you both] this [the] tree lest you both be among the wrongdoers
Transliteration
Wa Yā'ādamu Askun 'Anta Wa Zawjuka Al-Jannata Fakulā Min Ĥaythu Shi'tumā Wa Lā Taqrabā Hadhihi Ash-Shajarata Fatakūnā Mina Až-Žālimīna
فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُورِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِنْ سَوْآتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الْخَالِدِينَ 20
Translation
Then whispered to both of them the Shaitaan to make apparent to both of them what was concealed from both of them of their shame And he said (Did) not forbid you both your Lord from this [the] tree except that you two become Angels or you two become of the immortals
Transliteration
Fawaswasa Lahumā Ash-Shayţānu Liyubdiya Lahumā Mā Wūriya `Anhumā Min Saw'ātihimā Wa Qāla Mā Nahākumā Rabbukumā `An Hadhihi Ash-Shajarati 'Illā 'An Takūnā Malakayni 'Aw Takūnā Mina Al-Khālidīna
وَقَاسَمَهُمَا إِنِّي لَكُمَا لَمِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ 21
Translation
And he swore (to) both of them Indeed I am to both of you among the sincere advisers
Transliteration
Wa Qāsamahumā 'Innī Lakumā Lamina An-Nāşiĥīna
فَدَلَّاهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ ۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَنَادَاهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَنْ تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُلْ لَكُمَا إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُبِينٌ 22
Translation
So he made both of them fall by deception Then when they both tasted the tree became apparent to both of them their shame and they began (to) fasten over themselves from (the) leaves (of) the Garden And called them both their Lord Did not I forbid you both from this [the] tree and [I] say to both of you that [the] Shaitaan to both of you (is) an enemy open
Transliteration
Fadallāhumā Bighurūrin Falammā Dhāqā Ash-Shajarata Badat Lahumā Saw'ātuhumā Wa Ţafiqā Yakhşifāni `Alayhimā Min Waraqi Al-Jannati Wa Nādāhumā Rabbuhumā 'Alam 'Anhakumā `An Tilkumā Ash-Shajarati Wa 'Aqul Lakumā 'Inna Ash-Shayţāna Lakumā `Adūwun Mubīnun
قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ 23
Translation
Both of them said Our Lord we have wronged ourselves and if not You forgive [for] us and have mercy (on) us surely we will be among the losers
Transliteration
Qālā Rabbanā Žalamnā 'Anfusanā Wa 'In Lam Taghfir Lanā Wa Tarĥamnā Lanakūnanna Mina Al-Khāsirīna
قَالَ اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ 24
Translation
(Allah) said Get down some of you to some others (as) enemy And for you in the earth (is) a dwelling place and livelihood for a time
Transliteration
Qāla Ahbiţū Ba`đukum Liba`đin `Adūwun Wa Lakum Fī Al-'Arđi Mustaqarrun Wa Matā`un 'Ilá Ĥīnin
قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ 25
Translation
He said In it you will live and in it you will die and from it you will be brought forth
Transliteration
Qāla Fīhā Taĥyawna Wa Fīhā Tamūtūna Wa Minhā Tukhrajūna
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَارِي سَوْآتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا ۖ وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ 26
Translation
O Children (of) Adam Verily We have sent down to you clothing it covers your shame and (as) an adornment But the clothing (of) [the] righteousness that (is) best That (is) from (the) Signs (of) Allah so that they may remember
Transliteration
Yā Banī 'Ādama Qad 'Anzalnā `Alaykum Libāsāan Yuwārī Saw''ātikum Wa Rīshāan Wa Libāsu At-Taqwá Dhālika Khayrun Dhālika Min 'Āyā Ti Allāhi La`allahum Yadhdhakkarūna
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ كَمَا أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ يَنْزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْآتِهِمَا ۗ إِنَّهُ يَرَاكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ 27
Translation
O Children (of) Adam! (Let) not tempt you [the] Shaitaan as he drove out your parents from Paradise stripping from both of them their clothing to show both of them their shame Indeed he sees you - he and his tribe from where not you see them Indeed We have made the devils friends of those who (do) not believe
Transliteration
Yā Banī 'Ādama Lā Yaftinannakumu Ash-Shayţānu Kamā 'Akhraja 'Abawaykum Mina Al-Jannati Yanzi`u `Anhumā Libāsahumā Liyuriyahumā Saw''ātihimā 'Innahu Yarākum Huwa Wa Qabīluhu Min Ĥaythu Lā Tarawnahum 'Innā Ja`alnā Ash-Shayā Ţīna 'Awliyā 'A Lilladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna
وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَا آبَاءَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ ۖ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 28
Translation
And when they do immorality they say We found on it our forefathers and Allah (has) ordered us of it Say Indeed Allah (does) not order immorality Do you say about Allah what not you know
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Fa`alū Fāĥishatan Qālū Wajadnā `Alayhā 'Ābā'anā Wa Allāhu 'Amaranā Bihā Qul 'Inna Allāha Lā Ya'muru Bil-Faĥshā'i 'Ataqūlūna `Alá Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna
قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَقِيمُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ 29
Translation
Say (Has been) ordered (by) my Lord justice and set your faces at every masjid and invoke Him (being) sincere to Him (in) the religion As He originated you (so) will you return
Transliteration
Qul 'Amara Rabbī Bil-Qisţi Wa 'Aqīmū Wujūhakum `Inda Kulli Masjidin Wa Ad`ūhu Mukhlişīna Lahu Ad-Dīna Kamā Bada'akum Ta`ūdūna
فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الضَّلَالَةُ ۗ إِنَّهُمُ اتَّخَذُوا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ 30
Translation
A group He guided and a group deserved [on] they the astraying Indeed, they take the devils (as) allies from besides Allah while they think that they (are the) guided-ones
Transliteration
FFarīqāan Hadá Wa Farīqāan Ĥaqqa `Alayhimu Ađ-Đalālatu 'Innahumu Attakhadhū Ash-Shayāţīna 'Awliyā'a Min Dūni Allāhi Wa Yaĥsabūna 'Annahum Muhtadūna
۞ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ 31
Translation
O Children (of) Adam! Take your adornment at every masjid and eat and drink but (do) not be extravagant Indeed He (does) not love the extravagant ones
Transliteration
Yā Banī 'Ādama Khudhū Zīnatakum `Inda Kulli Masjidin Wa Kulū Wa Ashrabū Wa Lā Tusrifū 'Innahu Lā Yuĥibbu Al-Musrifīna
قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ ۚ قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ 32
Translation
Say Who has forbidden (the) adornment (from) Allah which He has brought forth for His slaves and the pure things of sustenance Say They (are) for those who believe during the life (of) the world exclusively (for them) (on the) Day (of) Resurrection Thus We explain the Signs for (the) people who know
Transliteration
Qul Man Ĥarrama Zīnata Allāhi Allatī 'Akhraja Li`ibādihi Wa Aţ-Ţayyibāti Mina Ar-Rizqi Qul Hiya Lilladhīna 'Āmanū Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Khālişatan Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Kadhālika Nufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Liqawmin Ya`lamūna
قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَالْإِثْمَ وَالْبَغْيَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَأَنْ تُشْرِكُوا بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا وَأَنْ تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 33
Translation
Say Only (had) forbidden my Lord the shameful deeds what (is) apparent of it and what is concealed and the sin and the oppression without [the] right and that you associate (others) with Allah what not He (has) sent down of it any authority and that you say about Allah what not you know
Transliteration
Qul 'Innamā Ĥarrama Rabbiya Al-Fawāĥisha Mā Žahara Minhā Wa Mā Baţana Wa Al-'Ithma Wa Al-Baghya Bighayri Al-Ĥaqqi Wa 'An Tushrikū Billāhi Mā Lam Yunazzil Bihi Sulţānāan Wa 'An Taqūlū `Alá Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna
وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ ۖ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ 34
Translation
And for every nation (is a fixed) term So when comes their term (they can) not seek to delay an hour and not seek to advance (it)
Transliteration
Wa Likulli 'Ummatin 'Ajalun Fa'idhā Jā'a 'Ajaluhum Lā Yasta'khirūna Sā`atan Wa Lā Yastaqdimūna
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِي ۙ فَمَنِ اتَّقَىٰ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ 35
Translation
O Children (of) Adam! If comes to you Messengers from you relating to you My Verses then whoever fears Allah and reforms then no fear on them and not they will grieve
Transliteration
Yā Banī 'Ādama 'Immā Ya'tiyannakum Rusulun Minkum Yaquşşūna `Alaykum 'Āyā Tī Famani Attaqá Wa 'Aşlaĥa Falā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna
وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ 36
Translation
But those who deny Our Verses and (are) arrogant towards them those (are the) companions (of) the Fire they in it will abide forever
Transliteration
Wa Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa Astakbarū `Anhā 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu An-Nāri Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُمْ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوا أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا ضَلُّوا عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا كَافِرِينَ 37
Translation
Then who (is) more unjust than (one) who invented against Allah a lie or denies His Verses Those will reach them their portion from the Book until when comes to them Our messengers (Angels) (to) take them in death they say Where are those (whom) you used to invoke from besides Allah They say They strayed from us and they (will) testify against themselves that they were disbelievers
Transliteration
FFaman 'Ažlamu Mimmani Aftará `Alá Allāhi Kadhibāan 'Aw Kadhdhaba Bi'āyātihi 'Ūlā'ika Yanāluhum Naşībuhum Mina Al-Kitābi Ĥattá 'Idhā Jā'at/hum Rusulunā Yatawaffawnahum Qālū 'Ayna Mā Kuntum Tad`ūna Min Dūni Allāhi Qālū Đallū `Annā Wa Shahidū `Alá 'Anfusihim 'Annahum Kānū Kāfirīna
قَالَ ادْخُلُوا فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ فِي النَّارِ ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا ادَّارَكُوا فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَاهُمْ لِأُولَاهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَآتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِنَ النَّارِ ۖ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 38
Translation
He (will) say Enter among (the) nations (who) passed away from before you of the jinn and the men in the Fire Every time entered a nation it cursed its sister (nation) until when they had overtaken one another in it all (will) say (the) last of them about the first of them Our Lord these misled us so give them punishment double of the Fire He (will) say For each (is) a double [and] but not you know
Transliteration
Qāla Adkhulū Fī 'Umamin Qad Khalat Min Qablikum Mina Al-Jinni Wa Al-'Insi Fī An-Nāri Kullamā Dakhalat 'Ummatun La`anat 'Ukhtahā Ĥattá 'Idhā Addārakū Fīhā Jamī`āan Qālat 'Ukhrāhum Li'wlāhum Rabbanā Hā'uulā' 'Ađallūnā Fa'ātihim `Adhābāan Đi`fāan Mina An-Nāri Qāla Likullin Đi`fun Wa Lakin Lā Ta`lamūna
وَقَالَتْ أُولَاهُمْ لِأُخْرَاهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ 39
Translation
And (will) say (the) first of them to (the) last of them Then not is for you upon us any superiority so taste the punishment for what you used to earn
Transliteration
Wa Qālat 'Ūlāhum Li'khrāhum Famā Kāna Lakum `Alaynā Min Fađlin Fadhūqū Al-`Adhāba Bimā Kuntum Taksibūna
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُجْرِمِينَ 40
Translation
Indeed those who denied Our Verses and (were) arrogant towards them (will) not be opened for them (the) doors (of) the heaven and not they will enter Paradise until passes the camel through (the) eye (of) the needle And thus We recompense the criminals
Transliteration
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa Astakbarū `Anhā Lā Tufattaĥu Lahum 'Abwābu As-Samā'i Wa Lā Yadkhulūna Al-Jannata Ĥattá Yalija Al-Jamalu Fī Sammi Al-Khiyāţi Wa Kadhalika Najzī Al-Mujrimīna
لَهُمْ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ 41
Translation
For them of (the) Hell (is) a bed and from over them coverings And thus We recompense the wrongdoers
Transliteration
Lahum Min Jahannama Mihādun Wa Min Fawqihim Ghawāshin Wa Kadhalika Najzī Až-Žālimīna
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ 42
Translation
But those who believe and do [the] righteous deeds not We burden any soul except (to) its capacity Those (are the) companions (of) Paradise they in it (will) abide forever
Transliteration
Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lā Nukallifu Nafsāan 'Illā Wus`ahā 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu Al-Jannati Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهِمُ الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلَا أَنْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ ۖ لَقَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ ۖ وَنُودُوا أَنْ تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 43
Translation
And We will remove whatever (is) in their breasts of malice Flows from underneath them the rivers And they will say All the praise (is) for Allah the One Who guided us to this and not we were to receive guidance if not [that] (had) guided us Allah Certainly came Messengers (of) our Lord with the truth And they will be addressed [that] This (is) Paradise you have been made to inherit it for what you used to do
Transliteration
Wa Naza`nā Mā Fī Şudūrihim Min Ghillin Tajrī Min Taĥtihimu Al-'Anhāru Wa Qālū Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Al-Ladhī Hadānā Lihadhā Wa Mā Kunnā Linahtadiya Lawlā 'An Hadānā Allāhu Laqad Jā'at Rusulu Rabbinā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Nūdū 'An Tilkumu Al-Jannatu 'Ūrithtumūhā Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna
وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ أَنْ قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا ۖ قَالُوا نَعَمْ ۚ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ أَنْ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ 44
Translation
And will call out (the) companions (of) Paradise (to the) companions (of) the Fire that Indeed we found what (had) promised us our Lord true So have you found what (was) promised (by) your Lord (to be) true They will say Yes Then will announce an announcer among them [that] (The) curse (of) Allah (is) on the wrongdoers
Transliteration
Wa Nādá 'Aşĥābu Al-Jannati 'Aşĥāba An-Nāri 'An Qad Wajadnā Mā Wa`adanā Rabbunā Ĥaqqāan Fahal Wajadtum Mā Wa`ada Rabbukum Ĥaqqāan Qālū Na`am Fa'adhdhana Mu'uadhdhinun Baynahum 'An La`natu Allāhi `Alá Až-Žālimīna
الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُمْ بِالْآخِرَةِ كَافِرُونَ 45
Translation
Those who hinder from (the) way (of) Allah and seek in it crookedness while they (are) concerning the Hereafter disbelievers
Transliteration
Al-Ladhīna Yaşuddūna `An Sabīli Allāhi Wa Yabghūnahā `Iwajāan Wa Hum Bil-'Ākhirati Kāfirūna
وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ ۚ وَعَلَى الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّا بِسِيمَاهُمْ ۚ وَنَادَوْا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ 46
Translation
And between them (will be) a partition and on the heights (will be) men recognizing all by their marks And they will call out (to the) companions (of) Paradise that Peace (be) upon you Not they have entered it but they hope
Transliteration
Wa Baynahumā Ĥijābun Wa `Alá Al-'A`rāfi Rijālun Ya`rifūna Kullāan Bisīmāhum Wa Nādaw 'Aşĥāba Al-Jannati 'An Salāmun `Alaykum Lam Yadkhulūhā Wa Hum Yaţma`ūna
۞ وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَارُهُمْ تِلْقَاءَ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ 47
Translation
And when are turned their eyes towards (the) companions (of) the Fire they (will) say Our Lord! (Do) not place us with the people - the wrongdoers
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Şurifat 'Abşāruhum Tilqā'a 'Aşĥābi An-Nāri Qālū Rabbanā Lā Taj`alnā Ma`a Al-Qawmi Až-Žālimīna
وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُوا مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ 48
Translation
And (will) call out (the) companions (of) the heights (to) men whom they recognize by their marks saying Not (has) availed [to] you your gathering and what you were arrogant (about)
Transliteration
Wa Nādá 'Aşĥābu Al-'A`rāfi Rijālāan Ya`rifūnahum Bisīmāhum Qālū Mā 'Aghná `Ankum Jam`ukum Wa Mā Kuntum Tastakbirūna
أَهَٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ۚ ادْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا أَنْتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ 49
Translation
Are these the ones whom you had sworn (that) not (will) grant them Allah Mercy Enter Paradise (There will be) no fear upon you and not you will grieve
Transliteration
''Ahā'uulā' Al-Ladhīna 'Aqsamtum Lā Yanāluhumu Allāhu Biraĥmatin Adkhulū Al-Jannata Lā Khawfun `Alaykum Wa Lā 'Antum Taĥzanūna
وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُوا عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ ۚ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ 50
Translation
And (will) call out (the) companions (of) the Fire (to the) companions (of) Paradise [that] Pour upon us [of] (some) water or of what (has been) provided (to) you (by) Allah They (will) say Indeed Allah has forbidden both to the disbelievers
Transliteration
Wa Nādá 'Aşĥābu An-Nāri 'Aşĥāba Al-Jannati 'An 'Afīđū `Alaynā Mina Al-Mā'i 'Aw Mimmā Razaqakumu Allāhu Qālū 'Inna Allāha Ĥarramahumā `Alá Al-Kāfirīna
الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا ۚ فَالْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا لِقَاءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ 51
Translation
Those who took their religion (as) an amusement and play and deluded them the life (of) the world So today We forget them as they forgot (the) meeting (of) their day this and [what] (as) they used to with Our Verses they reject
Transliteration
Al-Ladhīna Attakhadhū Dīnahum Lahwan Wa La`ibāan Wa Gharrat/humu Al-Ĥayāatu Ad-Dunyā Fālyawma Nansāhum Kamā Nasū Liqā'a Yawmihim Hādhā Wa Mā Kānū Bi'āyātinā Yajĥadūna
وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَاهُمْ بِكِتَابٍ فَصَّلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ 52
Translation
And certainly We had brought (to) them a Book which We have explained with knowledge - a guidance and mercy for a people who believe
Transliteration
Wa Laqad Ji'nāhum Bikitābin Faşşalnāhu `Alá `Ilmin Hudáan Wa Raĥmatan Liqawmin Yu'uminūna
هَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُ ۚ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي تَأْوِيلُهُ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ قَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ فَهَلْ لَنَا مِنْ شُفَعَاءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا لَنَا أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ قَدْ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ 53
Translation
Do they wait except (for) its fulfillment (The) Day (will) come its fulfillment will say those who had forgotten it from before Verily had come (the) Messengers (of) our Lord with the truth so are (there) for us any intercessors so (that) they intercede for us or we are sent back so (that) we do (deeds) other than that which we used to do Verily they lost themselves and strayed from them what they used to invent
Transliteration
Hal Yanžurūna 'Illā Ta'wīlahu Yawma Ya'tī Ta'wīluhu Yaqūlu Al-Ladhīna Nasūhu Min Qablu Qad Jā'at Rusulu Rabbinā Bil-Ĥaqqi Fahal Lanā Min Shufa`ā'a Fayashfa`ū Lanā 'Aw Nuraddu Fana`mala Ghayra Al-Ladhī Kunnā Na`malu Qad Khasirū 'Anfusahum Wa Đalla `Anhum Mā Kānū Yaftarūna
إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُغْشِي اللَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُ حَثِيثًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ بِأَمْرِهِ ۗ أَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْأَمْرُ ۗ تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ 54
Translation
Indeed your Lord (is) Allah the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six epochs then He ascended on the Throne He covers the night (with) the day seeking it rapidly and the sun and the moon and the stars - subjected by His command Unquestionably for Him (is) the creation and the command blessed (is) Allah Lord (of) the worlds
Transliteration
'Inna Rabbakumu Allāhu Al-Ladhī Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Fī Sittati 'Ayyāmin Thumma Astawá `Alá Al-`Arshi Yughshī Al-Layla An-Nahāra Yaţlubuhu Ĥathīthāan Wa Ash-Shamsa Wa Al-Qamara Wa An-Nujūma Musakhkharātin Bi'amrihi 'Alā Lahu Al-Khalqu Wa Al-'Amru Tabāraka Allāhu Rabbu Al-`Ālamīna
ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ 55
Translation
Call upon your Lord humbly and privately Indeed He (does) not love the transgressors
Transliteration
Ad`ū Rabbakum Tađarru`āan Wa Khufyatan 'Innahu Lā Yuĥibbu Al-Mu`tadīna
وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا وَادْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ 56
Translation
And (do) not cause corruption in the earth after its reformation And call Him (in) fear and hope Indeed (the) Mercy (of) Allah (is) near for the good-doers
Transliteration
Wa Lā Tufsidū Fī Al-'Arđi Ba`da 'Işlāĥihā Wa Ad`ūhu Khawfāan Wa Ţama`āan 'Inna Raĥmata Allāhi Qarībun Mina Al-Muĥsinīna
وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقْنَاهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَيِّتٍ فَأَنْزَلْنَا بِهِ الْمَاءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُخْرِجُ الْمَوْتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ 57
Translation
And He (is) the One Who sends the winds (as) glad tidings from before His Mercy until when they have carried clouds heavy We drive them to a land dead then We send down from it the water then We bring forth from it (of) all (kinds) (of) fruits Thus We will bring forth the dead so that you may take heed
Transliteration
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Yursilu Ar-Riyāĥa Bushrāan Bayna Yaday Raĥmatihi Ĥattá 'Idhā 'Aqallat Saĥābāan Thiqālāan Suqnāhu Libaladin Mayyitin Fa'anzalnā Bihi Al-Mā'a Fa'akhrajnā Bihi Min Kulli Ath-Thamarāti Kadhālika Nukhriju Al-Mawtá La`allakum Tadhakkarūna
وَالْبَلَدُ الطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ ۖ وَالَّذِي خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ 58
Translation
And the land - [the] pure comes forth its vegetation by (the) permission (of) its Lord but which is bad - (does) not come forth except (with) difficulty Thus We explain the Signs for a people who are grateful
Transliteration
WWa Al-Baladu Aţ-Ţayyibu Yakhruju Nabātuhu Bi'idhni Rabbihi Wa Al-Ladhī Khabutha Lā Yakhruju 'Illā Nakidāan Kadhālika Nuşarrifu Al-'Āyāti Liqawmin Yashkurūna
لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ 59
Translation
Certainly We sent Nuh to his people and he said O my people! Worship Allah not for you any god other than Him Indeed I [I] fear for you punishment (of the) Day Great
Transliteration
LLaqad 'Arsalnā Nūĥāan 'Ilá Qawmihi Faqāla Yā Qawmi A`budū Allāha Mā Lakum Min 'Ilahin Ghayruhu 'Innī 'Akhāfu `Alaykum `Adhāba Yawmin `Ažīmin
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ 60
Translation
Said the chiefs of his people Indeed, we surely see you in error clear
Transliteration
Qāla Al-Mala'u Min Qawmihi 'Innā Lanarāka Fī Đalālin Mubīnin
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي ضَلَالَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ 61
Translation
He said O my people (There is) no in me error but I am a Messenger from (the) Lord (of) the worlds
Transliteration
Qāla Yā Qawmi Laysa Bī Đalālatun Wa Lakinnī Rasūlun Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنْصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ 62
Translation
I convey to you the Messages (of) my Lord and [I] advise [to] you and I know from Allah what not you know
Transliteration
''Uballighukum Risālāti Rabbī Wa 'Anşaĥu Lakum Wa 'A`lamu Mina Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَنْ جَاءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ لِيُنْذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ 63
Translation
Do you wonder that has come to you a reminder from your Lord on a man among you that he may warn you and that you may fear and so that you may receive mercy
Transliteration
''Awa`ajibtum 'An Jā'akum Dhikrun Min Rabbikum `Alá Rajulin Minkum Liyundhirakum Wa Litattaqū Wa La`allakum Turĥamūna
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا عَمِينَ 64
Translation
But they denied him so We saved him and those who (were) with him in the ship And We drowned those who denied Our Verses Indeed they were a people blind
Transliteration
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa'anjaynāhu Wa Al-Ladhīna Ma`ahu Fī Al-Fulki Wa 'Aghraqnā Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā 'Innahum Kānū Qawmāan `Amīna
۞ وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ 65
Translation
And to Aad (We sent) their brother Hud He said O my people! Worship Allah not for you any god other than Him Then will not you fear (Allah)
Transliteration
Wa 'Ilá `Ādin 'Akhāhum Hūdāan Qāla Yā Qawmi A`budū Allāha Mā Lakum Min 'Ilahin Ghayruhu 'Afalā Tattaqūna
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي سَفَاهَةٍ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ 66
Translation
Said the chiefs (of) those who disbelieved from his people Indeed we surely see you in foolishness and indeed we [we] think you (are) of the liars
Transliteration
Qāla Al-Mala'u Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Min Qawmihi 'Innā Lanarāka Fī Safāhatin Wa 'Innā Lanažunnuka Mina Al-Kādhibīna
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي سَفَاهَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ 67
Translation
He said O my people (There is) no in me foolishness but I am a Messenger from (the) Lord (of) the worlds
Transliteration
Qāla Yā Qawmi Laysa Bī Safāhatun Wa Lakinnī Rasūlun Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنَا لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ 68
Translation
I convey to you Messages (of) my Lord and I am to you an adviser - trustworthy
Transliteration
''Uballighukum Risālāti Rabbī Wa 'Anā Lakum Nāşiĥun 'Amīnun
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَنْ جَاءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ لِيُنْذِرَكُمْ ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ مِنْ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَزَادَكُمْ فِي الْخَلْقِ بَسْطَةً ۖ فَاذْكُرُوا آلَاءَ اللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ 69
Translation
Do you wonder that has come to you a reminder from your Lord on a man among you that he may warn you And remember when He made you successors after (the) people (of) Nuh and increased you in the stature extensively So remember (the) Bounties (of) Allah so that you may succeed
Transliteration
''Awa`ajibtum 'An Jā'akum Dhikrun Min Rabbikum `Alá Rajulin Minkum Liyundhirakum Wa Adhkurū 'Idh Ja`alakum Khulafā'a Min Ba`di Qawmi Nūĥin Wa Zādakum Fī Al-Khalqi Basţatan Fādhkurū 'Ālā'a Allāhi La`allakum Tufliĥūna
قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَحْدَهُ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا ۖ فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ 70
Translation
They said Have you come to us that we (should) worship Allah Alone and we forsake what used to worship our forefathers Then bring us of what you promise us if you are of the truthful
Transliteration
Qālū 'Aji'tanā Lina`buda Allāha Waĥdahu Wa Nadhara Mā Kāna Ya`budu 'Ābā'uunā Fa'tinā Bimā Ta`idunā 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna
قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ ۖ أَتُجَادِلُونَنِي فِي أَسْمَاءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ ۚ فَانْتَظِرُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُنْتَظِرِينَ 71
Translation
He said Verily has fallen upon you from your Lord punishment and anger Do you dispute with me concerning names you have named them you and your forefathers Not (has been) sent down (by) Allah for it any authority Then wait indeed, I am with you of the ones who wait
Transliteration
Qāla Qad Waqa`a `Alaykum Min Rabbikum Rijsun Wa Ghađabun 'Atujādilūnanī Fī 'Asmā'in Sammaytumūhā 'Antum Wa 'Ābā'uukum Mā Nazzala Allāhu Bihā Min Sulţānin Fāntažirū 'Innī Ma`akum Mina Al-Muntažirīna
فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۖ وَمَا كَانُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ 72
Translation
So We saved him and those with him by Mercy from Us And We cut off the roots (of) those who denied Our Signs and not they were believers
Transliteration
Fa'anjaynāhu Wa Al-Ladhīna Ma`ahu Biraĥmatin Minnā Wa Qaţa`nā Dābira Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa Mā Kānū Mu'uminīna
وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ هَٰذِهِ نَاقَةُ اللَّهِ لَكُمْ آيَةً ۖ فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِي أَرْضِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ 73
Translation
And to Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih He said O my people Worship Allah not for you any god other than Him Verily has come to you a clear proof from your Lord This (is) a she-camel (of) Allah (it is) for you a Sign So you leave her (to) eat on (the) earth (of) Allah and (do) not touch her with harm lest seizes you a punishment painful
Transliteration
Wa 'Ilá Thamūda 'Akhāhum Şāliĥāan Qāla Yā Qawmi A`budū Allāha Mā Lakum Min 'Ilahin Ghayruhu Qad Jā'atkum Bayyinatun Min Rabbikum Hadhihi Nāqatu Allāhi Lakum 'Āyatan Fadharūhā Ta'kul Fī 'Arđi Allāhi Wa Lā Tamassūhā Bisū'in Faya'khudhakum `Adhābun 'Alīmun
وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ مِنْ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْ سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ الْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا ۖ فَاذْكُرُوا آلَاءَ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ 74
Translation
And remember when He made you successors from after Aad and settled you in the earth You take from its plains palaces and you carve out the mountains (as) homes So remember (the) Bounties (of) Allah and (do) not act wickedly in (the) earth spreading corruption
Transliteration
Wa Adhkurū 'Idh Ja`alakum Khulafā'a Min Ba`di `Ādin Wa Bawwa'akum Fī Al-'Arđi Tattakhidhūna Min Suhūlihā Quşūrāan Wa Tanĥitūna Al-Jibāla Buyūtāan Fādhkurū 'Ālā'a Allāhi Wa Lā Ta`thaw Fī Al-'Arđi Mufsidīna
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِمَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُمْ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَالِحًا مُرْسَلٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۚ قَالُوا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلَ بِهِ مُؤْمِنُونَ 75
Translation
Said the chiefs (of) those who were arrogant among his people to those who were oppressed - [to] those who believed among them Do you know that Salih (is the) one sent from his Lord They said Indeed we in what he has been sent with [it] (are) believers
Transliteration
Qāla Al-Mala'u Al-Ladhīna Astakbarū Min Qawmihi Lilladhīna Astuđ`ifū Liman 'Āmana Minhum 'Ata`lamūna 'Anna Şāliĥāan Mursalun Min Rabbihi Qālū 'Innā Bimā 'Ursila Bihi Mu'uminūna
قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا بِالَّذِي آمَنْتُمْ بِهِ كَافِرُونَ 76
Translation
Said those who were arrogant Indeed we in that which you believe in it (are) disbelievers
Transliteration
Qāla Al-Ladhīna Astakbarū 'Innā Bial-Ladhī 'Āmantum Bihi Kāfirūna
فَعَقَرُوا النَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا يَا صَالِحُ ائْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ 77
Translation
Then they hamstrung the she-camel and (were) insolent towards (the) command (of) their Lord and they said O Salih Bring us what you promise us if you are of the Messengers
Transliteration
FFa`aqarū An-Nāqata Wa `Ataw `An 'Amri Rabbihim Wa Qālū Yā Şāliĥu A'tinā Bimā Ta`idunā 'In Kunta Mina Al-Mursalīna
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ 78
Translation
So seized them the earthquake then they became in their homes fallen prone
Transliteration
FFa'akhadhat/humu Ar-Rajfatu Fa'aşbaĥū Fī Dārihim Jāthimīna
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تُحِبُّونَ النَّاصِحِينَ 79
Translation
So he turned away from them and he said O my people! Verily I have conveyed to you (the) Message (of) my Lord and [I] advised [to] you but not you like the advisers
Transliteration
FFatawallá `Anhum Wa Qāla Yā Qawmi Laqad 'Ablaghtukum Risālata Rabbī Wa Naşaĥtu Lakum Wa Lakin Lā Tuĥibbūna An-Nāşiĥīna
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ 80
Translation
And Lut when he said to his people Do you commit (such) immorality not has preceded you therein any one of the worlds
Transliteration
Wa Lūţāan 'Idh Qāla Liqawmihi 'Ata'tūna Al-Fāĥishata Mā Sabaqakum Bihā Min 'Aĥadin Mina Al-`Ālamīna
إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِنْ دُونِ النِّسَاءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُسْرِفُونَ 81
Translation
Indeed, you you approach the men lustfully from instead of the women Nay you (are) a people (who) commit excesses
Transliteration
'Innakum Lata'tūna Ar-Rijāla Shahwatan Min Dūni An-Nisā' Bal 'Antum Qawmun Musrifūna
وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ 82
Translation
And not was (the) answer (of) his people except that they said Drive them out of your town Indeed they (are) people who keep themselves pure
Transliteration
Wa Mā Kāna Jawāba Qawmihi 'Illā 'An Qālū 'Akhrijūhum Min Qaryatikum 'Innahum 'Unāsun Yataţahharūn
فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ 83
Translation
So We saved him and his family except his wife she was of those who stayed behind
Transliteration
Fa'anjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu 'Illā Amra'atahu Kānat Mina Al-Ghābirīna
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَطَرًا ۖ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ 84
Translation
And We showered upon them a rain So see how was (the) end (of) the criminals
Transliteration
Wa 'Amţarnā `Alayhim Maţarāan Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mujrimīna
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ فَأَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ 85
Translation
And to Madyan his brother Shuaib He said O my people! Worship Allah not for you any god other than Him Verily has came to you a clear proof from your Lord So give full [the] measure and the weight and (do) not deprive [the] people in their things and (do) not cause corruption in the earth after its reformation That (is) better for you if you are believers
Transliteration
Wa 'Ilá Madyana 'Akhāhum Shu`aybāan Qāla Yā Qawmi A`budū Allāha Mā Lakum Min 'Ilahin Ghayruhu Qad Jā'atkum Bayyinatun Min Rabbikum Fa'awfū Al-Kayla Wa Al-Mīzāna Wa Lā Tabkhasū An-Nāsa 'Ashyā 'Ahum Wa Lā Tufsidū Fī Al-'Arđi Ba`da 'Işlāĥihā Dhālikum Khayrun Lakum 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna
وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا بِكُلِّ صِرَاطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِهِ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ كُنْتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ ۖ وَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ 86
Translation
And (do) not sit on every path threatening and hindering from (the) way (of) Allah (those) who believe in Him and seeking (to make) it crooked And remember when you were few and He increased you And see how was (the) end (of) the corrupters
Transliteration
Wa Lā Taq`udū Bikulli Şirāţin Tū`idūna Wa Taşuddūna `An Sabīli Allāhi Man 'Āmana Bihi Wa Tabghūnahā `Iwajāan Wa Adhkurū 'Idh Kuntum Qalīlāan Fakaththarakum Wa Anžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mufsidīna
وَإِنْ كَانَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْكُمْ آمَنُوا بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَطَائِفَةٌ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا ۚ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ 87
Translation
And if (there) is a group among you (who has) believed in that which I have been sent with [it] and a group not they believe then be patient until judges Allah between us And He (is the) Best (of) [the] Judges
Transliteration
Wa 'In Kāna Ţā'ifatun Minkum 'Āmanū Bial-Ladhī 'Ursiltu Bihi Wa Ţā'ifatun Lam Yu'uminū Fāşbirū Ĥattá Yaĥkuma Allāhu Baynanā Wa Huwa Khayru Al-Ĥākimīna
۞ قَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَا شُعَيْبُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَكَ مِنْ قَرْيَتِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۚ قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَارِهِينَ 88
Translation
Said the chiefs (of) those who were arrogant among his people We will surely drive you out O Shuaib! And those who (have) believed with you from our city or you must return to our religion He said Even if we are (the) ones who hate (it)
Transliteration
Qāla Al-Mala'u Al-Ladhīna Astakbarū Min Qawmihi Lanukhrijannaka Yā Shu`aybu Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Ma`aka Min Qaryatinā 'Aw Lata`ūdunna Fī Millatinā Qāla 'Awalaw Kunnā Kārihīna
قَدِ افْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِي مِلَّتِكُمْ بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّانَا اللَّهُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَا أَنْ نَعُودَ فِيهَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا ۚ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا ۚ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِينَ 89
Translation
Verily we would have fabricated against Allah a lie if we returned in your religion after [when] saved us Allah from it And not it is for us that we return in it except that wills Allah our Lord Encompasses (by) Our Lord every thing (in) knowledge Upon Allah we put our trust Our Lord Decide between us and between our people in truth and You (are the) Best (of) those who Decide
Transliteration
QQadi Aftaraynā `Alá Allāhi Kadhibāan 'In `Udnā Fī Millatikum Ba`da 'Idh Najjānā Allāhu Minhā Wa Mā Yakūnu Lanā 'An Na`ūda Fīhā 'Illā 'An Yashā'a Allāhu Rabbunā Wasi`a Rabbunā Kulla Shay'in `Ilmāan `Alá Allāhi Tawakkalnā Rabbanā Aftaĥ Baynanā Wa Bayna Qawminā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Anta Khayru Al-Fātiĥīna
وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ لَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَخَاسِرُونَ 90
Translation
And said the chiefs (of) those who disbelieved among his people If you follow Shuaib indeed you then (will be) certainly losers
Transliteration
Wa Qāla Al-Mala'u Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Min Qawmihi La'ini Attaba`tum Shu`aybāan 'Innakum 'Idhāan Lakhāsirūna
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ 91
Translation
Then seized them the earthquake then they became in their home(s) fallen prone
Transliteration
FFa'akhadhat/humu Ar-Rajfatu Fa'aşbaĥū Fī Dārihim Jāthimīna
الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا شُعَيْبًا كَأَنْ لَمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيهَا ۚ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا شُعَيْبًا كَانُوا هُمُ الْخَاسِرِينَ 92
Translation
Those who denied Shuaib (became) as if not they (had) lived therein Those who denied Shuaib they were them the losers
Transliteration
Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Shu`aybāan Ka'an Lam Yaghnaw Fīhā Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Shu`aybāan Kānū Humu Al-Khāsirīna
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ آسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ 93
Translation
So he turned away from them and said O my people! Verily I (have) conveyed to you (the) Messages (of) my Lord and advised [to] you So how could I grieve for a people (who are) disbelievers
Transliteration
FFatawallá `Anhum Wa Qāla Yā Qawmi Laqad 'Ablaghtukum Risālāti Rabbī Wa Naşaĥtu Lakum Fakayfa 'Āsá `Alá Qawmin Kāfirīna
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا أَخَذْنَا أَهْلَهَا بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ 94
Translation
And not We sent in a city [of] any Prophet except We seized its people with adversity and hardship so that they may (become) humble
Transliteration
Wa Mā 'Arsalnā Fī Qaryatin Min Nabīyin 'Illā 'Akhadhnā 'Ahlahā Bil-Ba'sā'i Wa Ađ-Đarrā'i La`allahum Yađđarra`ūna
ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوْا وَقَالُوا قَدْ مَسَّ آبَاءَنَا الضَّرَّاءُ وَالسَّرَّاءُ فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ 95
Translation
Then We changed (in) place (of) the bad the good until they increased and said Verily (had) touched our forefathers the adversity and the ease So We seized them suddenly while they (did) not perceive
Transliteration
TThumma Baddalnā Makāna As-Sayyi'ati Al-Ĥasanata Ĥattá `Afaw Wa Qālū Qad Massa 'Ābā'anā Ađ-Đarrā'u Wa As-Sarrā'u Fa'akhadhnāhum Baghtatan Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna
وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُرَىٰ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَرَكَاتٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِنْ كَذَّبُوا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ 96
Translation
And if [that] people (of) the cities (had) believed and feared Allah surely We (would have) opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth but they denied So We seized them for what they used to earn
Transliteration
Wa Law 'Anna 'Ahla Al-Qurá 'Āmanū Wa Attaqaw Lafataĥnā `Alayhim Barakātin Mina As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Lakin Kadhdhabū Fa'akhadhnāhum Bimā Kānū Yaksibūna
أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَىٰ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ 97
Translation
Then did feel secure (the) people (of) the cities that comes to them Our punishment (at) night while they (were) asleep
Transliteration
'Afa'amina 'Ahlu Al-Qurá 'An Ya'tiyahum Ba'sunā Bayātāan Wa Hum Nā'imūna
أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَىٰ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ 98
Translation
Or felt secure (the) people (of) the cities that comes to them Our punishment (in) daylight while they (were) playing
Transliteration
'Awa 'Amina 'Ahlu Al-Qurá 'An Ya'tiyahum Ba'sunā Đuĥáan Wa Hum Yal`abūna
أَفَأَمِنُوا مَكْرَ اللَّهِ ۚ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ 99
Translation
Then did they feel secure (from the) plan (of) Allah But not feel secure (from the) plan (of) Allah except the people (who are) the losers
Transliteration
'Afa'aminū Makra Allāhi Falā Ya'manu Makra Allāhi 'Illā Al-Qawmu Al-Khāsirūna
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْأَرْضَ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَا أَنْ لَوْ نَشَاءُ أَصَبْنَاهُمْ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ 100
Translation
Would it not guide [for] those who inherit the land from after its people that if We willed We (could) afflict them for their sins and We put a seal over their hearts so they (do) not hear
Transliteration
'Awalam Yahdi Lilladhīna Yarithūna Al-'Arđa Min Ba`di 'Ahlihā 'An Law Nashā'u 'Aşabnāhum Bidhunūbihim Wa Naţba`u `Alá Qulūbihim Fahum Lā Yasma`ūna
تِلْكَ الْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنْبَائِهَا ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا بِمَا كَذَّبُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ الْكَافِرِينَ 101
Translation
These (were) the cities We relate to you of their news And certainly came to them their Messengers with clear proofs but not they were to believe in what they (had) denied from before Thus (has been) put a seal (by) Allah on (the) hearts (of) the disbelievers
Transliteration
Tilka Al-Qurá Naquşşu `Alayka Min 'Anbā'ihā Wa Laqad Jā'at/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Famā Kānū Liyu'uminū Bimā Kadhdhabū Min Qablu Kadhālika Yaţba`u Allāhu `Alá Qulūbi Al-Kāfirīna
وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِمْ مِنْ عَهْدٍ ۖ وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَا أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَاسِقِينَ 102
Translation
And not We found for most of them [of] (any) covenant But We found most of them certainly defiantly disobedient
Transliteration
Wa Mā Wajadnā Li'ktharihim Min `Ahdin Wa 'In Wajadnā 'Aktharahum Lafāsiqīna
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَظَلَمُوا بِهَا ۖ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ 103
Translation
Then We sent from after them Musa with Our Signs to Firaun and his chiefs But they were unjust to them So see how was (the) end (of) the corrupters
Transliteration
TThumma Ba`athnā Min Ba`dihim Mūsá Bi'āyātinā 'Ilá Fir`awna Wa Mala'ihi Fažalamū Bihā Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mufsidīna
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَا فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ 104
Translation
And said Musa O Firaun Indeed, I am a Messenger from (the) Lord (of) the worlds
Transliteration
Wa Qāla Mūsá Yā Fir`awnu 'Innī Rasūlun Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰ أَنْ لَا أَقُولَ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ ۚ قَدْ جِئْتُكُمْ بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِيَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ 105
Translation
Obligated on that not I say about Allah except the truth Verily I (have) come to you with a clear Sign from your Lord so send with me (the) Children (of) Israel
Transliteration
&Ĥaqīqun `Alá 'An Lā 'Aqūla `Alá Allāhi 'Illā Al-Ĥaqqa Qad Ji'tukum Bibayyinatin Min Rabbikum Fa'arsil Ma`ī Banī 'Isrā'īla
قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ جِئْتَ بِآيَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ 106
Translation
He said If you have come with a Sign then bring it if you are of the truthful
Transliteration
Qāla 'In Kunta Ji'ta Bi'āyatin Fa'ti Bihā 'In Kunta Mina Aş-Şādiqīna
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُبِينٌ 107
Translation
So he threw his staff and suddenly it (was) a serpent manifest
Transliteration
FFa'alqá `Aşāhu Fa'idhā Hiya Thu`bānun Mubīnun
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ 108
Translation
And he drew out his hand and suddenly it (was) white for the observers
Transliteration
Wa Naza`a Yadahu Fa'idhā Hiya Bayđā'u Lilnnāžirīna
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ 109
Translation
Said the chiefs of (the) people (of) Firaun Indeed this (is) surely a magician - learned
Transliteration
Qāla Al-Mala'u Min Qawmi Fir`awna 'Inna Hādhā Lasāĥirun `Alīmun
يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنْ أَرْضِكُمْ ۖ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ 110
Translation
He wants to drive you out from your land so what (do) you instruct
Transliteration
Yurīdu 'An Yukhrijakum Min 'Arđikum Famādhā Ta'murūna
قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ 111
Translation
They said Postpone him and his brother and send in the cities gatherers
Transliteration
Qālū 'Arjihi Wa 'Akhāhu Wa 'Arsil Fī Al-Madā'ini Ĥāshirīna
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ 112
Translation
They (will) bring to you [with] every magician learned
Transliteration
Ya'tūka Bikulli Sāĥirin `Alīmin
وَجَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوا إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ 113
Translation
So came the magicians (to) Firaun They said Indeed for us surely (will be) a reward if we are [we] the victors
Transliteration
Wa Jā'a As-Saĥaratu Fir`awna Qālū 'Inna Lanā La'ajrāan 'In Kunnā Naĥnu Al-Ghālibīna
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ 114
Translation
He said Yes and indeed you surely (will be) of the ones who are near
Transliteration
Qāla Na`am Wa 'Innakum Lamina Al-Muqarrabīna
قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا أَنْ تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَنْ نَكُونَ نَحْنُ الْمُلْقِينَ 115
Translation
They said O Musa Whether [that] you throw or [that] we will be [we] the ones to throw
Transliteration
Qālū Yā Mūsá 'Immā 'An Tulqiya Wa 'Immā 'An Nakūna Naĥnu Al-Mulqīna
قَالَ أَلْقُوا ۖ فَلَمَّا أَلْقَوْا سَحَرُوا أَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ وَاسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَاءُوا بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ 116
Translation
He said Throw Then when they threw they bewitched (the) eyes (of) the people and terrified them and came (up) with a magic great
Transliteration
Qāla 'Alqū Falammā 'Alqaw Saĥarū 'A`yuna An-Nāsi Wa Astarhabūhum Wa Jā'ū Bisiĥrin `Ažīmin
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ 117
Translation
And We inspired to Musa that Throw your staff and suddenly it swallow(ed) what they (were) falsifying
Transliteration
Wa 'Awĥaynā 'Ilá Mūsá 'An 'Alqi `Aşāka Fa'idhā Hiya Talqafu Mā Ya'fikūna
فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 118
Translation
So was established the truth and became futile what they used to do
Transliteration
Fawaqa`a Al-Ĥaqqu Wa Baţala Mā Kānū Ya`malūna
فَغُلِبُوا هُنَالِكَ وَانْقَلَبُوا صَاغِرِينَ 119
Translation
So they were defeated there and returned humiliated
Transliteration
FFaghulibū Hunālika Wa Anqalabū Şāghirīna
وَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ 120
Translation
And fell down the magicians prostrate
Transliteration
Wa 'Ulqiya As-Saĥaratu Sājidīna
قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ 121
Translation
They said We believe in (the) Lord (of) the worlds
Transliteration
Qālū 'Āmannā Birabbi Al-`Ālamīna
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ 122
Translation
Lord (of) Musa and Harun
Transliteration
Rabbi Mūsá Wa Hārūna
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ آمَنْتُمْ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَكَرْتُمُوهُ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوا مِنْهَا أَهْلَهَا ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ 123
Translation
Said Firaun You believed in him before [that] I give permission to you Indeed this (is) surely a plot you have plotted it in the city so that you may drive out from it its people But soon you will know
Transliteration
Qāla Fir`awnu 'Āmantum Bihi Qabla 'An 'Ādhana Lakum 'Inna Hādhā Lamakrun Makartumūhu Fī Al-Madīnati Litukhrijū Minhā 'Ahlahā Fasawfa Ta`lamūna
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ مِنْ خِلَافٍ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ 124
Translation
I will surely cut off your hands and your feet of opposite (sides) Then I will surely crucify you all
Transliteration
LLa'uqaţţi`anna 'Aydiyakum Wa 'Arjulakum Min Khilāfin Thumma La'uşallibannakum 'Ajma`īna
قَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنْقَلِبُونَ 125
Translation
They said Indeed we to our Lord (will) return
Transliteration
Qālū 'Innā 'Ilá Rabbinā Munqalibūna
وَمَا تَنْقِمُ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَاءَتْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ 126
Translation
And not you take revenge from us except that we believed in (the) Signs (of) our Lord when they came to us Our Lord! Pour upon us patience and cause us to die (as) Muslims
Transliteration
Wa Mā Tanqimu Minnā 'Illā 'An 'Āmannā Bi'āyāti Rabbinā Lammā Jā'atnā Rabbanā 'Afrigh `Alaynā Şabrāan Wa Tawaffanā Muslimīna
وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُ لِيُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْيِي نِسَاءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَاهِرُونَ 127
Translation
And said the chiefs of (the) people (of) Firaun Will you leave Musa and his people so that they cause corruption in the earth and forsake you and your gods He said We will kill their sons and we will let live their women and indeed we over them (are) subjugators
Transliteration
Wa Qāla Al-Mala'u Min Qawmi Fir`awna 'Atadharu Mūsá Wa Qawmahu Liyufsidū Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Yadharaka Wa 'Ālihataka Qāla Sanuqattilu 'Abnā'ahum Wa Nastaĥyī Nisā'ahum Wa 'Innā Fawqahum Qāhirūna
قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ اسْتَعِينُوا بِاللَّهِ وَاصْبِرُوا ۖ إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ 128
Translation
Said Musa to his people Seek help from Allah and be patient Indeed the earth (belongs) to Allah He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants And the end (is) for the righteous
Transliteration
Qāla Mūsá Liqawmihi Asta`īnū Billāhi Wa Aşbirū 'Inna Al-'Arđa Lillāhi Yūrithuhā Man Yashā'u Min `Ibādihi Wa Al-`Āqibatu Lilmuttaqīna
قَالُوا أُوذِينَا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ 129
Translation
They said We have been harmed from before [that] you came to us from and after [what] you have come to us He said Perhaps your Lord [that] will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the earth then see how you will do
Transliteration
Qālū 'Ūdhīnā Min Qabli 'An Ta'tiyanā Wa Min Ba`di Mā Ji'tanā Qāla `Asá Rabbukum 'An Yuhlika `Adūwakum Wa Yastakhlifakum Fī Al-'Arđi Fayanžura Kayfa Ta`malūna
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ 130
Translation
And certainly We seized (the) people (of) Firaun with years (of famine) and a deficit of [the] fruits so that they may receive admonition
Transliteration
Wa Laqad 'Akhadhnā 'Āla Fir`awna Bis-Sinīna Wa Naqşin Mina Ath-Thamarāti La`allahum Yadhdhakkarūna
فَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا لَنَا هَٰذِهِ ۖ وَإِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَطَّيَّرُوا بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّمَا طَائِرُهُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ 131
Translation
But when came to them the good they said For us (is) this And if afflicts them bad they ascribe evil omens to Musa and who (were) with him Behold Only their evil omens (are) with Allah but most of them (do) not know
Transliteration
Fa'idhā Jā'at/humu Al-Ĥasanatu Qālū Lanā Hadhihi Wa 'In Tuşibhum Sayyi'atun Yaţţayyarū Bimūsá Wa Man Ma`ahu 'Alā 'Innamā Ţā'iruhum `Inda Allāhi Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Ya`lamūna
وَقَالُوا مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِ مِنْ آيَةٍ لِتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ 132
Translation
And they said Whatever you bring us therewith of (the) sign so that you bewitch us with it then not we (will be) in you believers
Transliteration
Wa Qālū Mahmā Ta'tinā Bihi Min 'Āyatin Litasĥaranā Bihā Famā Naĥnu Laka Bimu'uminīna
فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوفَانَ وَالْجَرَادَ وَالْقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ آيَاتٍ مُفَصَّلَاتٍ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُجْرِمِينَ 133
Translation
So We sent on them the flood and the locusts and the lice and the frogs and the blood (as) signs manifest but they showed arrogance and they were a people criminal
Transliteration
Fa'arsalnā `Alayhimu Aţ-Ţūfāna Wa Al-Jarāda Wa Al-Qummala Wa Ađ-Đafādi`a Wa Ad-Dama 'Āyātin Mufaşşalātin Fāstakbarū Wa Kānū Qawmāan Mujrimīna
وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِنْدَكَ ۖ لَئِنْ كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ 134
Translation
And when fell on them the punishment they said O Musa! Invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised to you If you remove from us the punishment surely we will believe [for] you and surely we will send with you (the) Children (of) Israel
Transliteration
Wa Lammā Waqa`a `Alayhimu Ar-Rijzu Qālū Yā Mūsá Ad`u Lanā Rabbaka Bimā `Ahida `Indaka La'in Kashafta `Annā Ar-Rijza Lanu'uminanna Laka Wa Lanursilanna Ma`aka Banī 'Isrā'īla
فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ هُمْ بَالِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنْكُثُونَ 135
Translation
But when We removed from them the punishment till a (fixed) term (which) they were to reach [it] then they broke (the word)
Transliteration
FFalammā Kashafnā `Anhumu Ar-Rijza 'Ilá 'Ajalin Hum Bālighūhu 'Idhā Hum Yankuthūna
فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ 136
Translation
So We took retribution from them and We drowned them in the sea because they denied Our Signs and they were to them heedless
Transliteration
FFāntaqamnā Minhum Fa'aghraqnāhum Fī Al-Yammi Bi'annahum Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa Kānū `Anhā Ghāfilīna
وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْرِشُونَ 137
Translation
And We made inheritors the people those who were considered weak - (the) eastern (parts) (of) the land and the western (parts) of it which We blessed [in it] And was fulfilled (the) word (of) your Lord - the best for (the) Children (of) Israel because they were patient And We destroyed what used to make Firaun and his people and what they used to erect
Transliteration
Wa 'Awrathnā Al-Qawma Al-Ladhīna Kānū Yustađ`afūna Mashāriqa Al-'Arđi Wa Maghāribahā Allatī Bāraknā Fīhā Wa Tammat Kalimatu Rabbika Al-Ĥusná `Alá Banī 'Isrā'īla Bimā Şabarū Wa Dammarnā Mā Kāna Yaşna`u Fir`awnu Wa Qawmuhu Wa Mā Kānū Ya`rishūna
وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰ أَصْنَامٍ لَهُمْ ۚ قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى اجْعَلْ لَنَا إِلَٰهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ ۚ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ 138
Translation
And We led across (the) Children (of) Israel the sea Then they came upon a people devoted to idols of theirs They said O Musa Make for us a god like what they have gods He said Indeed, you (are) a people ignorant
Transliteration
Wa Jāwaznā Bibanī 'Isrā'īla Al-Baĥra Fa'ataw `Alá Qawmin Ya`kufūna `Alá 'Aşnāmin Lahum Qālū Yā Mūsá Aj`al Lanā 'Ilahāan Kamā Lahum 'Ālihatun Qāla 'Innakum Qawmun Tajhalūna
إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَاطِلٌ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 139
Translation
Indeed these destroyed (is) what they (are) in it and vain (is) what they used to do
Transliteration
'Inna Hā'uulā' Mutabbarun Mā Hum Fīhi Wa Bāţilun Mā Kānū Ya`malūna
قَالَ أَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَٰهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ 140
Translation
He said Should other than Allah I seek for you a god while He has preferred you over the worlds
Transliteration
Qāla 'Aghayra Allāhi 'Abghīkum 'Ilahāan Wa Huwa Fađđalakum `Alá Al-`Ālamīna
وَإِذْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۖ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُمْ بَلَاءٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ 141
Translation
And when We saved you from (the) people (of) Firaun who were afflicting you (with) worst (of) torment they were killing your sons and letting live your women And in that (was) a trial from your Lord great
Transliteration
Wa 'Idh 'Anjaynākum Min 'Āli Fir`awna Yasūmūnakum Sū'a Al-`Adhābi Yuqattilūna 'Abnā'akum Wa Yastaĥyūna Nisā'akum Wa Fī Dhālikum Balā'un Min Rabbikum `Ažīmun
۞ وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَاثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ۚ وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَارُونَ اخْلُفْنِي فِي قَوْمِي وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ 142
Translation
And We appointed (for) Musa thirty nights and We completed them with ten (more) so was completed (the) set term (of) his Lord (of) forty night(s) And said Musa to his brother Harun Take my place in my people and do right and (do) not follow (the) way (of) the corrupters
Transliteration
Wa Wā`adnā Mūsá Thalāthīna Laylatan Wa 'Atmamnāhā Bi`ashrin Fatamma Mīqātu Rabbihi 'Arba`īna Laylatan Wa Qāla Mūsá Li'khīhi Hārūna Akhlufnī Fī Qawmī Wa 'Aşliĥ Wa Lā Tattabi` Sabīla Al-Mufsidīna
وَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنْظُرْ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ لَنْ تَرَانِي وَلَٰكِنِ انْظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي ۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا ۚ فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ 143
Translation
And when came Musa to Our appointed place and spoke to him his Lord he said O my Lord Show me (that) I may look at You He said Never you (can) see Me but look at the mountain [then] if it remains in its place then you (will) see Me But when revealed (His) Glory his Lord to the mountain He made it crumbled to dust and fell down Musa unconscious And when he recovered he said Glory be to You I turn (in repentance) to you and I am (the) first (of) the believers
Transliteration
Wa Lammā Jā'a Mūsá Limīqātinā Wa Kallamahu Rabbuhu Qāla Rabbi 'Arinī 'Anžur 'Ilayka Qāla Lan Tarānī Wa Lakini Anžur 'Ilá Al-Jabali Fa'ini Astaqarra Makānahu Fasawfa Tarānī Falammā Tajallá Rabbuhu Liljabali Ja`alahu Dakkāan Wa Kharra Mūsá Şa`iqāan Falammā 'Afāqa Qāla Subĥānaka Tubtu 'Ilayka Wa 'Anā 'Awwalu Al-Mu'uminīna
قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِي وَبِكَلَامِي فَخُذْ مَا آتَيْتُكَ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ 144
Translation
He said O Musa! Indeed I have chosen you over the people with My Messages and with My words So take what I have given you and be among the grateful
Transliteration
Qāla Yā Mūsá 'Innī Aşţafaytuka `Alá An-Nāsi Birisālātī Wa Bikalāmī Fakhudh Mā 'Ātaytuka Wa Kun Mina Ash-Shākirīna
وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُ فِي الْأَلْوَاحِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلًا لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا بِأَحْسَنِهَا ۚ سَأُرِيكُمْ دَارَ الْفَاسِقِينَ 145
Translation
And We ordained (laws) for him in the tablets - of every thing an instruction and explanation for every thing So take them with firmness and order your people [to] take (the) best of it I will show you (the) home (of) the defiantly disobedient
Transliteration
Wa Katabnā Lahu Fī Al-'Alwāĥi Min Kulli Shay'in Maw`ižatan Wa Tafşīlāan Likulli Shay'in Fakhudh/hā Biqūwatin Wa 'Mur Qawmaka Ya'khudhū Bi'aĥsanihā Sa'urīkum Dāra Al-Fāsiqīna
سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ آيَاتِيَ الَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كُلَّ آيَةٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا وَإِنْ يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِنْ يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الْغَيِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ 146
Translation
I will turn away from My Signs those who are arrogant in the earth without [the] right and if they see every sign not (will) they believe in it And if they see (the) way (of) the righteousness not (will) they take it (as) a way but if they see (the) way (of) [the] error they will take it (as) a way That (is) because they denied Our Signs and they were of them heedless
Transliteration
Sa'aşrifu `An 'Āyātiya Al-Ladhīna Yatakabbarūna Fī Al-'Arđi Bighayri Al-Ĥaqqi Wa 'In Yaraw Kulla 'Āyatin Lā Yu'uminū Bihā Wa 'In Yaraw Sabīla Ar-Rushdi Lā Yattakhidhūhu Sabīlāan Wa 'In Yaraw Sabīla Al-Ghayyi Yattakhidhūhu Sabīlāan Dhālika Bi'annahum Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa Kānū `Anhā Ghāfilīna
وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ ۚ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 147
Translation
And those who denied Our Signs and (the) meeting (of) the Hereafter - worthless (are) their deeds Will they be recompensed except (for) what they used to do
Transliteration
Wa Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa Liqā'i Al-'Ākhirati Ĥabiţat 'A`māluhum Hal Yujzawna 'Illā Mā Kānū Ya`malūna
وَاتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَهُ خُوَارٌ ۚ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّهُ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ۘ اتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ 148
Translation
And took (the) people (of) Musa from after him from their ornaments a calf an image [for] it (had) a lowing sound Did not they see that it (could) not speak to them and not guide them (to) a way They took it (for worship) and they were wrongdoers
Transliteration
Wa Attakhadha Qawmu Mūsá Min Ba`dihi Min Ĥulīyihim `Ijlāan Jasadāan Lahu Khuwārun 'Alam Yaraw 'Annahu Lā Yukallimuhum Wa Lā Yahdīhim Sabīlāan Attakhadhūhu Wa Kānū Žālimīna
وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا قَالُوا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ 149
Translation
And when (it was made to) fall into their hands and they saw that they (had) indeed gone astray they said If not has Mercy on us Our Lord and forgive [for] us we will surely be among the losers
Transliteration
Wa Lammā Suqiţa Fī 'Aydīhim Wa Ra'aw 'Annahum Qad Đallū Qālū La'in Lam Yarĥamnā Rabbunā Wa Yaghfir Lanā Lanakūnanna Mina Al-Khāsirīna
وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفًا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِي مِنْ بَعْدِي ۖ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ وَأَلْقَى الْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُ إِلَيْهِ ۚ قَالَ ابْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ اسْتَضْعَفُونِي وَكَادُوا يَقْتُلُونَنِي فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِيَ الْأَعْدَاءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ 150
Translation
And when returned Musa to his people angry and grieved he said Evil is what you have done in my place from after me Were you impatient (over the) matter (of) your Lord And he cast down the tablets and seized by head his brother dragging him to himself He said O son (of) my mother Indeed the people considered me weak and were about (to) kill me So (let) not rejoice over me the enemies and (do) not place me with the people (who are) wrongdoing
Transliteration
Wa Lammā Raja`a Mūsá 'Ilá Qawmihi Ghađbāna 'Asifāan Qāla Bi'samā Khalaftumūnī Min Ba`dī 'A`ajiltum 'Amra Rabbikum Wa 'Alqá Al-'Alwāĥa Wa 'Akhadha Bira'si 'Akhīhi Yajurruhu 'Ilayhi Qāla Abna 'Umma 'Inna Al-Qawma Astađ`afūnī Wa Kādū Yaqtulūnanī Falā Tushmit Biya Al-'A`dā'a Wa Lā Taj`alnī Ma`a Al-Qawmi Až-Žālimīna
قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِأَخِي وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ ۖ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ 151
Translation
He said O my Lord Forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your Mercy for You (are) the Most Merciful (of) the merciful
Transliteration
Qāla Rabbi Aghfir Lī Wa Li'akhī Wa 'Adkhilnā Fī Raĥmatika Wa 'Anta 'Arĥamu Ar-Rāĥimīna
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُفْتَرِينَ 152
Translation
Indeed those who took the calf will reach them wrath from their Lord and humiliation in the life (of) the world And thus We recompense the ones who invent (falsehood)
Transliteration
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Attakhadhū Al-`Ijla Sayanāluhum Ghađabun Min Rabbihim Wa Dhillatun Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Kadhalika Najzī Al-Muftarīna
وَالَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا مِنْ بَعْدِهَا وَآمَنُوا إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنْ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ 153
Translation
And those who do the evil deeds then repented from after that and believed indeed your Lord from after that (is) surely Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful
Transliteration
Wa Al-Ladhīna `Amilū As-Sayyi'āti Thumma Tābū Min Ba`dihā Wa 'Āmanū 'Inna Rabbaka Min Ba`dihā Laghafūrun Raĥīmun
وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَنْ مُوسَى الْغَضَبُ أَخَذَ الْأَلْوَاحَ ۖ وَفِي نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُونَ 154
Translation
And when was calmed from Musa the anger he took (up) the tablets and in their inscription (was) guidance and mercy for those who [they] of their Lord (are) fearful
Transliteration
Wa Lammā Sakata `An Mūsá Al-Ghađabu 'Akhadha Al-'Alwāĥa Wa Fī Nuskhatihā Hudáan Wa Raĥmatun Lilladhīna Hum Lirabbihim Yarhabūna
وَاخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا لِمِيقَاتِنَا ۖ فَلَمَّا أَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَإِيَّايَ ۖ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ السُّفَهَاءُ مِنَّا ۖ إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ ۖ أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ 155
Translation
And chose Musa (from) his people seventy men for Our appointment Then when seized them the earthquake he said O my Lord If you (had) willed You (could) have destroyed them from before and me Would You destroy us for what did the foolish among us Not it (was) but Your trial You let go astray by it whom You will and You guide whom You will You (are) our Protector so forgive us and have mercy upon us and You (are) Best (of) Forgivers
Transliteration
Wa Akhtāra Mūsá Qawmahu Sab`īna Rajulāan Limīqātinā Falammā 'Akhadhat/humu Ar-Rajfatu Qāla Rabbi Law Shi'ta 'Ahlaktahum Min Qablu Wa 'Īyāya 'Atuhlikunā Bimā Fa`ala As-Sufahā'u Minnā 'In Hiya 'Illā Fitnatuka Tuđillu Bihā Man Tashā'u Wa Tahdī Man Tashā'u 'Anta Walīyunā Fāghfir Lanā Wa Arĥamnā Wa 'Anta Khayru Al-Ghāfirīna
۞ وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَا إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِهِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ ۖ وَرَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ ۚ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِآيَاتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ 156
Translation
And ordain for us in this [the] world good and in the Hereafter Indeed, we we have turned to You He said My punishment I afflict with it whom I will but My Mercy encompasses every thing So I will ordain it for those who (are) righteous and give zakah and those who [they] in Our Verses they believe
Transliteration
Wa Aktub Lanā Fī Hadhihi Ad-Dunyā Ĥasanatan Wa Fī Al-'Ākhirati 'Innā Hudnā 'Ilayka Qāla `Adhābī 'Uşību Bihi Man 'Ashā'u Wa Raĥmatī Wasi`at Kulla Shay'in Fasa'aktubuhā Lilladhīna Yattaqūna Wa Yu'utūna Az-Zakāata Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum Bi'āyātinā Yu'uminūna
الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَالْأَغْلَالَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِهِ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ مَعَهُ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ 157
Translation
Those who follow the Messenger the Prophet the unlettered whom they find him written with them in the Taurat and the Injeel He commands them to the right and forbids them from the wrong and he makes lawful for them the pure things and makes unlawful for them the impure things and he relieves from them their burden and the fetters which were upon them So those who believe in him and honor him and help him and follow the light which has been sent down with him Those (are) [they] the successful ones
Transliteration
Al-Ladhīna Yattabi`ūna Ar-Rasūla An-Nabīya Al-'Ummīya Al-Ladhī Yajidūnahu Maktūbāan `Indahum Fī At-Tawrāati Wa Al-'Injīli Ya'muruhum Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa Yanhāhum `Ani Al-Munkari Wa Yuĥillu Lahumu Aţ-Ţayyibāti Wa Yuĥarrimu `Alayhimu Al-Khabā'itha Wa Yađa`u `Anhum 'Işrahum Wa Al-'Aghlāla Allatī Kānat `Alayhim Fa-Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Bihi Wa `Azzarūhu Wa Naşarūhu Wa Attaba`ū An-Nūra Al-Ladhī 'Unzila Ma`ahu 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna
قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ الَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَكَلِمَاتِهِ وَاتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ 158
Translation
Say O mankind Indeed I am (the) Messenger (of) Allah to you all the One for Whom (is the) dominion (of) the heavens and the earth (There is) no god except Him He gives life and causes death So believe in Allah and His Messenger the Prophet the unlettered the one who believes in Allah and His Words and follow him so that you may (be) guided
Transliteration
Qul Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'Innī Rasūlu Allāhi 'Ilaykum Jamī`āan Al-Ladhī Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu Fa'āminū Billāhi Wa Rasūlihi An-Nabīyi Al-'Ummīyi Al-Ladhī Yu'uminu Billāhi Wa Kalimātihi Wa Attabi`ūhu La`allakum Tahtadūna
وَمِنْ قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهِ يَعْدِلُونَ 159
Translation
And among (the) people (of) Musa (is) a community (which) guides with truth and by it establishes justice
Transliteration
Wa Min Qawmi Mūsá 'Ummatun Yahdūna Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Bihi Ya`dilūna
وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ إِذِ اسْتَسْقَاهُ قَوْمُهُ أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانْبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَشْرَبَهُمْ ۚ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْغَمَامَ وَأَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَىٰ ۖ كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ 160
Translation
And We divided them (into) two (and) ten [i.e. twelve] tribes (as) communities And We inspired to Musa when asked him for water his people [that] Strike with your staff the stone Then gushed forth from it two (and) ten [i.e. twelve] springs Certainly knew each people their drinking place And We shaded [on] them (with) the clouds and We sent down upon them the manna and the quails Eat from (the) good things which We have provided you And not they wronged Us but they were (to) themselves doing wrong
Transliteration
Wa Qaţţa`nāhumu Athnatay `Ashrata 'Asbāţāan 'Umamāan Wa 'Awĥaynā 'Ilá Mūsá 'Idh Astasqāhu Qawmuhu 'Ani Ađrib Bi`aşāka Al-Ĥajara Fānbajasat Minhu Athnatā `Ashrata `Aynāan Qad `Alima Kullu 'Unāsin Mashrabahum Wa Žallalnā `Alayhimu Al-Ghamāma Wa 'Anzalnā `Alayhimu Al-Manna Wa As-Salwá Kulū Min Ţayyibāti Mā Razaqnākum Wa Mā Žalamūnā Wa Lakin Kānū 'Anfusahum Yažlimūna
وَإِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمُ اسْكُنُوا هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُولُوا حِطَّةٌ وَادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيئَاتِكُمْ ۚ سَنَزِيدُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ 161
Translation
And when it was said to them Live (in) this city and eat from it wherever you wish and say Repentance and enter the gate prostrating We will forgive for you your sins We will increase (reward) (of) the good-doers
Transliteration
Wa 'Idh Qīla Lahumu Askunū Hadhihi Al-Qaryata Wa Kulū Minhā Ĥaythu Shi'tum Wa Qūlū Ĥiţţatun Wa Adkhulū Al-Bāba Sujjadāan Naghfir Lakum Khaţī'ātikum Sanazīdu Al-Muĥsinīna
فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَظْلِمُونَ 162
Translation
But changed those who wronged among them word other than (that) which was said to them So We sent upon them torment from the sky because they were doing wrong
Transliteration
Fabaddala Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Minhum Qawlāan Ghayra Al-Ladhī Qīla Lahum Fa'arsalnā `Alayhim Rijzāan Mina As-Samā'i Bimā Kānū Yažlimūna
وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ 163
Translation
And ask them about the town which was situated (by) the sea when they transgressed in the (matter of) Sabbath when came to them their fish (on the) day (of) their Sabbath visibly and (on the) day not they had Sabbath (they did) not come to them Thus We test them because they were defiantly disobeying
Transliteration
Wa As'alhum `Ani Al-Qaryati Allatī Kānat Ĥāđirata Al-Baĥri 'Idh Ya`dūna Fī As-Sabti 'Idh Ta'tīhim Ĥītānuhum Yawma Sabtihim Shurra`āan Wa Yawma Lā Yasbitūna Lā Ta'tīhim Kadhālika Nablūhum Bimā Kānū Yafsuqūna
وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ اللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ 164
Translation
And when said a community among them Why (do) you preach a people (whom) Allah (is going to) destroy them or punish them (with) a punishment severe They said To be absolved before your Lord and that they may become righteous
Transliteration
Wa 'Idh Qālat 'Ummatun Minhum Lima Ta`ižūna Qawmāan Allāhu Muhlikuhum 'Aw Mu`adhdhibuhum `Adhābāan Shadīdāan Qālū Ma`dhiratan 'Ilá Rabbikum Wa La`allahum Yattaqūna
فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ أَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوءِ وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا بِعَذَابٍ بَئِيسٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ 165
Translation
So when they forgot what they had been reminded with [it] We saved those who forbade [from] the evil and We seized those who wronged with a punishment wretched because they were defiantly disobeying
Transliteration
FFalammā Nasū Mā Dhukkirū Bihi 'Anjaynā Al-Ladhīna Yanhawna `Ani As-Sū'i Wa 'Akhadhnā Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Bi`adhābin Ba'īsin Bimā Kānū Yafsuqūna
فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا عَنْ مَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ 166
Translation
So when they exceeded all bounds about what they were forbidden from it We said to them Be apes despised
Transliteration
FFalammā `Ataw `An Mā Nuhū `Anhu Qulnā Lahum Kūnū Qiradatan Khāsi'īna
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ يَسُومُهُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ الْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ 167
Translation
And when declared your Lord that He would surely send upon them till (the) Day (of) the Resurrection (those) who would afflict them (with) a grievous [the] punishment Indeed your Lord (is) surely swift (in) the retribution but indeed He (is) surely Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful
Transliteration
Wa 'Idh Ta'adhdhana Rabbuka Layab`athanna `Alayhim 'Ilá Yawmi Al-Qiyāmati Man Yasūmuhum Sū'a Al-`Adhābi 'Inna Rabbaka Lasarī`u Al-`Iqābi Wa 'Innahu Laghafūrun Raĥīmun
وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِنْهُمُ الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ 168
Translation
And We divided them in the earth (as) nations Among them (are) the righteous and among them (are) other than that And We tested them with the good and the bad so that they may return
Transliteration
Wa Qaţţa`nāhum Fī Al-'Arđi 'Umamāan Minhumu Aş-Şāliĥūna Wa Minhum Dūna Dhālika Wa Balawnāhum Bil-Ĥasanāti Wa As-Sayyi'āti La`allahum Yarji`ūna
فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا الْكِتَابَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا الْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِنْ يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِثْلُهُ يَأْخُذُوهُ ۚ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِيثَاقُ الْكِتَابِ أَنْ لَا يَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا مَا فِيهِ ۗ وَالدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ 169
Translation
Then succeeded from after them successors (who) inherited the Book taking goods (of) this the lower (life) and they say It will be forgiven for us And if comes to them goods similar to it they will take it Was not taken on them Covenant (of) the Book that not they will say about Allah except the truth while they studied what (is) in it And the home (of) the Hereafter (is) better for those who fear Allah So will not you use intellect
Transliteration
Fakhalafa Min Ba`dihim Khalfun Warithū Al-Kitāba Ya'khudhūna `Arađa Hādhā Al-'Adná Wa Yaqūlūna Sayughfaru Lanā Wa 'In Ya'tihim `Arađun Mithluhu Ya'khudhūhu 'Alam Yu'ukhadh `Alayhim Mīthāqu Al-Kitābi 'An Lā Yaqūlū `Alá Allāhi 'Illā Al-Ĥaqqa Wa Darasū Mā Fīhi Wa Ad-Dāru Al-'Ākhiratu Khayrun Lilladhīna Yattaqūna 'Afalā Ta`qilūna
وَالَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِالْكِتَابِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ 170
Translation
And those who hold fast to the Book and establish the prayer indeed We (will) not [We] let go waste (the) reward (of) the reformers
Transliteration
Wa Al-Ladhīna Yumassikūna Bil-Kitābi Wa 'Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata 'Innā Lā Nuđī`u 'Ajra Al-Muşliĥīna
۞ وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَاذْكُرُوا مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ 171
Translation
And when We raised the mountain above them as if it was a canopy and they thought that it (would) fall upon them (We said) Take what We have given you with strength and remember what (is) in it so that you may fear Allah
Transliteration
Wa 'Idh Nataqnā Al-Jabala Fawqahum Ka'annahu Žullatun Wa Žannū 'Annahu Wāqi`un Bihim Khudhū Mā 'Ātaynākum Biqūwatin Wa Adhkurū Mā Fīhi La`allakum Tattaqūna
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَا ۛ أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَافِلِينَ 172
Translation
And when (was) taken (by) your Lord from (the) Children (of) Adam from their loins their descendants and made them testify over themselves Am I not your Lord They said Yes we have testified Lest you say (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection Indeed we were about this unaware
Transliteration
Wa 'Idh 'Akhadha Rabbuka Min Banī 'Ādama Min Žuhūrihim Dhurrīyatahum Wa 'Ash/hadahum `Alá 'Anfusihim 'Alastu Birabbikum Qālū Balá Shahidnā 'An Taqūlū Yawma Al-Qiyāmati 'Innā Kunnā `An Hādhā Ghāfilīna
أَوْ تَقُولُوا إِنَّمَا أَشْرَكَ آبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ 173
Translation
Or you say Only partners (were) associated (with Allah) (by) our forefathers from before (us) and we are descendants from after them So will You destroy us for what did the falsifiers
Transliteration
'Aw Taqūlū 'Innamā 'Ashraka 'Ābā'uunā Min Qablu Wa Kunnā Dhurrīyatan Min Ba`dihim 'Afatuhlikunā Bimā Fa`ala Al-Mubţilūna
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ 174
Translation
And thus We explain the Verses so that they may return
Transliteration
Wa Kadhalika Nufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Wa La`allahum Yarji`ūna
وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ الَّذِي آتَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا فَانْسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ 175
Translation
And recite to them (the) story (of the) one whom We gave [him] Our Verses but he detached [from] them so followed him the Shaitaan and he became of those gone astray
Transliteration
Wa Atlu `Alayhim Naba'a Al-Ladhī 'Ātaynāhu 'Āyātinā Fānsalakha Minhā Fa'atba`ahu Ash-Shayţānu Fakāna Mina Al-Ghāwīna
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ ۚ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ 176
Translation
And if We willed surely We (could) have raised him with these [and] but he adhered to the earth and followed his (vain) desires So his example (is) like (the) example (of) the dog if you attack [on] him he lolls out his tongue or if you leave him he lolls out his tongue That (is the) example (of) the people who denied [in] Our Signs So relate the story so that they may reflect
Transliteration
Wa Law Shi'nā Larafa`nāhu Bihā Wa Lakinnahu 'Akhlada 'Ilá Al-'Arđi Wa Attaba`a Hawāhu Famathaluhu Kamathali Al-Kalbi 'In Taĥmil `Alayhi Yalhath 'Aw Tatruk/hu Yalhath Dhālika Mathalu Al-Qawmi Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Fāqşuşi Al-Qaşaşa La`allahum Yatafakkarūna
سَاءَ مَثَلًا الْقَوْمُ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَأَنْفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا يَظْلِمُونَ 177
Translation
Evil (as) an example (are) the people those who denied Our Signs and themselves they used to wrong
Transliteration
SSā'a Mathalāan Al-Qawmu Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa 'Anfusahum Kānū Yažlimūna
مَنْ يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِي ۖ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ 178
Translation
Whoever (is) guided (by) Allah then he (is) the guided one while whoever He lets go astray then those [they] (are) the losers
Transliteration
Man Yahdi Allāhu Fahuwa Al-Muhtadī Wa Man Yuđlil Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Al-Khāsirūna
وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ آذَانٌ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۚ
