Al-Muţaffifīn The Defrauding

﷽
وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ 1 
Translation
Woe to those who give less
Transliteration
Waylun Lilmuţaffifīna
الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ 2 
Translation
Those who when they take a measure from the people they take in full
Transliteration
Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā Aktālū `Alá An-Nāsi Yastawfūna
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَوْ وَزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ 3 
Translation
But when they give by measure (to) them or they weigh (for) them they give less
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Kālūhum 'Aw Wazanūhum Yukhsirūna
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ 4 
Translation
Do not think those that they (will be) resurrected
Transliteration
'Alā Yažunnu 'Ūla'ika 'Annahum Mab`ūthūna
لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ 5 
Translation
For a Day Great
Transliteration
Liyawmin `Ažīmin
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ 6 
Translation
(The) Day will stand mankind before (the) Lord (of) the worlds
Transliteration
Yawma Yaqūmu An-Nāsu Lirabbi Al-`Ālamīna
كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ 7 
Translation
Nay! Indeed (the) record (of) the wicked (is) surely in Sijjin
Transliteration
Kallā 'Inna Kitāba Al-Fujjāri Lafī Sijjīnin
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ 8 
Translation
And what can make you know what (is) Sijjin
Transliteration
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Sijjīnun
كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ 9 
Translation
A book written
Transliteration
KKitābun Marqūmun
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ 10 
Translation
Woe that Day to the deniers
Transliteration
Waylun Yawma'idhin Lilmukadhdhibīna
الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ 11 
Translation
Those who deny (the) Day (of) the Judgment
Transliteration
Al-Ladhīna Yukadhdhibūna Biyawmi Ad-Dīni
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ 12 
Translation
And not can deny [of] it except every transgressor sinful
Transliteration
Wa Mā Yukadhdhibu Bihi 'Illā Kullu Mu`tadin 'Athīmin
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ 13 
Translation
When are recited to him Our Verses he says Stories (of) the former (people)
Transliteration
'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhi 'Āyātunā Qāla 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna
كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ 14 
Translation
Nay! But (the) stain has covered [over] their hearts (for) what they were earning
Transliteration
Kallā Bal Rāna `Alá Qulūbihim Mā Kānū Yaksibūna
كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ 15 
Translation
Nay! Indeed they from their Lord that Day surely will be partitioned
Transliteration
Kallā 'Innahum `An Rabbihim Yawma'idhin Lamaĥjūbūna
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ 16 
Translation
Then indeed they (surely) will burn (in) the Hellfire
Transliteration
TThumma 'Innahum Laşālū Al-Jaĥīmi
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ 17 
Translation
Then it will be said This (is) what you used (to) [of it] deny
Transliteration
TThumma Yuqālu Hādhā Al-Ladhī Kuntum Bihi Tukadhdhibūna
كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ 18 
Translation
Nay! Indeed (the) record (of) the righteous (will be) surely in Illiyin
Transliteration
Kallā 'Inna Kitāba Al-'Abrāri Lafī `Illīyīna
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ 19 
Translation
And what can make you know what (is) Illiyun
Transliteration
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā `Illīyūna
كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ 20 
Translation
A book written
Transliteration
KKitābun Marqūmun
يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ 21 
Translation
Witness it those brought near
Transliteration
YYash/haduhu Al-Muqarrabūna
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ 22 
Translation
Indeed the righteous (will be) surely in bliss
Transliteration
'Inna Al-'Abrāra Lafī Na`īmin
عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ 23 
Translation
On thrones observing
Transliteration
`Alá Al-'Arā'iki Yanžurūna
تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ 24 
Translation
You will recognize in their faces (the) radiance (of) bliss
Transliteration
TTa`rifu Fī Wujūhihim Nađrata An-Na`īmi
يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيقٍ مَخْتُومٍ 25 
Translation
They will be given to drink of a pure wine sealed
Transliteration
YYusqawna Min Raĥīqin Makhtūmin
خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ 26 
Translation
Its seal (will be of) musk And for that let aspire the aspirers
Transliteration
Khitāmuhu Miskun Wa Fī Dhālika Falyatanāfasi Al-Mutanāfisūna
وَمِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ 27 
Translation
And its mixture (is) of Tasnim
Transliteration
Wa Mizājuhu Min Tasnīmin
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ 28 
Translation
A spring will drink from it those brought near
Transliteration
`Aynāan Yashrabu Bihā Al-Muqarrabūna
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ 29 
Translation
Indeed those who committed crimes used (to) at those who believed laugh
Transliteration
'Inna Al-Ladhīna 'Ajramū Kānū Mina Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Yađĥakūna
وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ 30 
Translation
And when they passed by them they winked at one another
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Marrū Bihim Yataghāmazūna
وَإِذَا انْقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ 31 
Translation
And when they returned to their people they would return jesting
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Anqalabū 'Ilá 'Ahlihimu Anqalabū Fakihīna
وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ 32 
Translation
And when they saw them they said Indeed these surely have gone astray
Transliteration
Wa 'Idhā Ra'awhum Qālū 'Inna Hā'uulā' Lađāllūna
وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ 33 
Translation
But not they had been sent over them (as) guardians
Transliteration
Wa Mā 'Ursilū `Alayhim Ĥāfižīna
فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ 34 
Translation
So today those who believed - at the disbelievers they will laugh
Transliteration
Fālyawma Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Mina Al-Kuffāri Yađĥakūna
عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ 35 
Translation
On the thrones observing
Transliteration
`Alá Al-'Arā'iki Yanžurūna
هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ 36 
Translation
Have (not) been paid the disbelievers (for) what they used (to) do
Transliteration
